Yes, and according to the TV magazines, ESPN returns to Virgin on Saturday. Nothing on BT Sports yet, though.

Could be the reason why ESPN is still in the EPG

Personally I would go for that.

Looks like we will be getting ESPN back then, since that is owned by BT likelihood is we will get BT sport then.

Still no updates from any insiders from last week on BT Sports - have just seen rumours.

Some UKTV Channels will be renumbered tonight on Virgin Media*.

So if magazines know about a deal having been made why on earth have they been told but customers havent??

This sounds suspicious that it could just be a mistake and a typo??

Could be a typo, it has the same channel number.

It's not a 'typo'! The channels were not listed in this week's magazine but they are in next week's. Although I have only seen the TV and Satellite Week and Radio Times magazines, I expect they all say the same.

The fact that ESPN is still showing EPG information is pretty significant I think.

It indicates to me that VM have agreed in principle with BT to carry ESPN in the XL pack but are still trashing out a deal for BT Sport.

That would be a good compromise. ESPN still has some decent action:

The FA Cup
German Bundesliga
French Ligue 1
Europa League (Rumoured to stay on ESPN)
Major League Baseball
College Football
International Football
Australian Football League
Friday Night Fights - Boxing
DTM Racing
UFC (Replays of the events shown on BT Sports)

So if ESPN stays in XL for free Virgin customers still have access to some great sport for no extra cost. This would also allow BT to advertise BT Sport 1 & 2 heavily to Virgin customers.

Interesting.

Yeah i think this is who they'd need to tell first? I can't see them coming out of the meeting room with BT and running to the phones to ensure the radio times get the information straight away

As fox mulder said in the x files "i want to believe" but i just don't see much to believe here :(

Both titles get their listings information from the Press Association, so expect almost all of the TV to carry the same info.

I am sure that when the deal is signed, the stock market will be told. If they have only agreed ESPN in principle as part of a bigger deal that has not yet been signed, then there is no reason to report it at this stage.
