Agreed.

Action do have the original TV version of Nikita, which is a great show, though not much use to me as I have the DVDs.

It does seem crazy not to get Drama as well.

I'm all for new channels coming to Virgin but CBS Drama doesn't float my boat. I didn't like Moonlighting, Falcon Crest, Dynasty or Dallas when they first hit our screens almost 30 years ago:shocked: Nostalgia is great but I'm really a big fan of fresh, new programming.

I agree i dot think there is no need for GOLD HD. YEs more HD channels would be greate but why create a HD channel where only about 5-10% of it will be actaull HD. Seems a waste of bandwith and that could be used for better HD channels :)

ESPN have lauched a news video app on TiVo. It can be accessed by pressing 'Red' on ESPN SD

Do HD channels use the same amount of bandwidth, even when they aren't broadcasting in HD

HD channels always broadcast in HD.

If the show isn't a HD show it is upscaled as being shown on a HD channel.

I just got the following from My Virgin Tester tonight (10.06pm).

Quote:

For some reason Virgin have been testing BBC HD and Sky Living HD under "unknown" for the channel names. Presumably its to test bandwidth for new hd channels. they were testing these yesterday too btw.

Sky Christmas is listed. NDTV 24x7 is listed (indian state news channel).

none of these ARE testing: CBS Drama, CBS Reality +1 and Horror Channel +1

the sky channels in HD we are currently lacking is Sports 3 and 4 , Sky News/Sports News and Atlantic?

Is that right?

the 2 News channels are giveaways if you ask me so that leaves the 2 sports and atlantic?

£3 more, seems about right.

It's a Sky HD Premium charge though, so you'd only get Sky Sports 3 and 4 HD. the others are not classed as Premium.

We had complaints after the XL pack had a price rise, even though a lot of content had been added over the previous 2 years.

£7 is enough for all of them in reality, Sky don't want to provide them though. It's only because Ofcom forced them to offer SSP1 and 2 HD that they let VM carry them.

I'm not suprised as it nets them a good few customers , that's not to say I agree though. A VM subscriber pays 22.50 plus 7.00 premium HD so should really be able to receive all the Sports channels in HD as Sky Movies subscribers can , however I disagree with some re Atlantic , this is a channel were a deal between the two platforms must be struck.

Indeed, you can't expect Sky to be falling over themselves to give away a USP.

I'm sure Altantic will come at some point, but Sky want it exclusive for now... I'd do the same if it was my company :)

Incidentally DF did you see the smallworld owner has been asking customers whether they'd prefer Sky Sports F1 as a standalone or free with Sky Sports , he said they were hoping to carry it so hopefully VM can strike a deal.

I still can't believe we don't have RT (russia today) or PressTV. We can only get the propoganda news channels on virgin. Sky has PressTV and RT :( even freesat has RT :(

That would be the best thing to happen to Sky... News Corp are bad for their reputation.

I would agree with that , Sky is a well run business what would thrive without their input. They may then bid for VM :D just kidding :)

Yes, I agree it's a very well run business. Removing News Corp will make them stronger. Competition is good. :)

You'll just have to call 150/151 or 0845 454 1111, There is no number for a UK ring-fenced team.

Terrible picture (pixelating VERY badly, freezing and blanking) when it gets very windy (as it is now) round where I live. When there is no wind the picture is fine.

Had 5 engineers here who say it's a network issue, the network dept have monitored my service but have said there's nothing wrong, so now they're saying it may be the cabling. Oh the joy :D
