Give up that broadband? Nah!

Wee bruv has given me his BT password so I'll watch the odd Sunderland match but that's all.

I said "No" I am not surprised in the least at what is going on. Remember at the beginning when Virgin said they were at the point of signing? It sounded like they believed it. Then all of a sudden everything changed. Did BT move the goalposts. Remember when Virgin Media was formed there was a spat with the new company within a very short time.
Have we got the same again. A new company lets see how far we can push them. All credit it looks like it happened naturally but there does seem like there is a relationship between BT and Sky that wasn't quite there before. Virgin Media for their part have a figure in mind and at the moment are not moving. Interesting times.

Hmmmm not sure where you get this from currently BT are taking Sky through the courts and ofcom are investigating the prices Sky are quoting they want from BT for sky sports channels on the BT Vision platform, they are far from liking each other infact your statement couldn't be further from the truth.
Sky had no say who puts channels on the satellite so BT Sports on Sky was always going to happen

Virgin Media is different as the platform is solely owned by Virgin and nobody can put channels on without agreeing a deal with Virgin hence the deals taking longer (if at all)

Please correct me if I am wrong. But Sky did not need to have BT sport on their EPG.

It is on, but suspect that Sky have seen no reason to irk their customers who will get BT sport, by not having it on.

So as he says, not seeing so much a relationship, but more necessary evils (i leave it to you to speculate whether both are evil, neither are, or one is :D

i voted yes.

Mainly as I had considered Virgin as an alternative, wholly as ESPN was free. Sport seems to dominate my viewing these days, and whilst I like sky atalantic, I also believe you should occasionally change companies (i hate relying on anyone)

So you voted that you would leave a service you don't have?

(The question isn't 'would you', it's 'will you' - you have to currently have the service to leave it.....).

i seen the vote button, and it didn't distinguish those who have or haven't.

oops, is that bad?

I think once a broadcaster has an epg slot they can transfer it independently of Sky? Might be wrong about that, but are the new Bt sport channels using the same channel numbers as the old ESPN suite of channels used?

I thought it was fairly implicit in the voting question.....;)

It's neither bad or good, it could just skew the result.....

Maybe only a few actual VM customers voted yes, and the rest are Sky combat troops trying to mess with us :D I demand a recount! :D

There is the rub with these polls.

I tend not to worry though, as the only poll I respect is the one between my heart, head, conscious and wallet.

If it is tied, I have deciding vote :D

Posts like this earlier in this thread, from someone who is not a VM customer, and who voted that he would leave.....

Regardless, this poll still shows that ~15% of VMs customer base are more than happy to leave to get BT Sports - that's a massive amount no matter how you look at it.
