Thank you for confirming the correct position with regards to some of the claims that people are making.

It is heartwarming to know that they didn't show any beheadings.

Thinking particularly about channels going HD , I believe the BBC and Channel 5 have been very poor in their efforts in comparison to competing broadcasters. Channel 4 will have all their channels available in HD with the imminent arrival of More 4 HD , Sky has the majority of theirs in HD , Scripps have a good selection as do ITV.

"heartwarming" was not the first word that sprang to my mind.....

btw, I didn't confirm anything - I corrected a repetition of an untrue statement/claim....;)

Are any of their wholly owned channels HD.

If you are crediting them for the UKTV channels shouldn't the BBC also be credited for those as both are half share owners.

That's correct and very true , however my comment still stands about Channel 5.

The worst 'propaganda' news channel in the world just has to be Fox! It's truly awful. AJ isn't too bad really, and actually Russia today also gives pretty unbiased coverage of issues.

Channel 5 are poor at everything, the quality of their channels has been shocking at times on all platforms, they cant even get SD right yet.

From what I remember all the news channels showed the beheading videos, they just paused before the actually beheading. I think they all showed the Saddam Hussein hanging video albeit with cuts and blurs as well.

Everybody seemed to hate Al Jazeera but Al Arabia show far more shocking footage at the time.

BBC Clicks twitter has confirmed BBC 2 will go HD in April, rather than rumour!

So will the BBC take up the remaining HD licence and continue with BBC HD?

I don't think they can afford to run a 3rd channel on Virgin, Sky & Freesat (which being BBC they have to be platform neutral) but hopefully they find the money from somewhere.

It did to me, as it's nice to know that there was some human decency applied to the situation.

You provided a link to refute the allegations made by people.

Are you trying to take over from where Carl left off, by picking needless holes in posts and/or being pedantic to a ridiculous level?

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 1.

a) "heartwarming" in the context you used was, imho, completely inappropriate - how can it be heartwarming when someone doesn't show a beheading? (appropriate, perhaps, but heartwarming, not really...)

Re "refute the allegations" - you could have found this out for yourself, rather than repeating baseless innuendo; since you couldn't be bothered, you then tried to weasel out of it - repetition of lies is almost as bad as the initial utterance.

You say pedantic - I called it fact-based discussion; you should try it, you may like it.
