My model number is also GT-19100 and I am now on Android 4.1.2

I knew mothing of the software update until a mate at work sent me a text to let me know he just got his. Even though I have the Auto update box ticked it didnt notify me.

The same thing happened last year with ICS,my mate sent me a text to let me know about that update.

Yes - the Nexus 4 is a Google device so runs 'vanilla' Android and will normally get Android updates almost immediately they get released

The S3 has Samsung customisations. Just as HTC phones have HTC changes and Sony phones have Sony changes - so new versions of Android take longer to arrive.

The Nexus is googles own phone so they always get the updates first.

Other brands like samsung like to customise the updates or include a few updates of their own before releasing it. Then it is down to virgin/Three/vodaphone etc to push it out to its customers

I agree with you on the Nexus 4, it is a good phone. Unfortunately, I like having a removable battery and SD card slot. Skipped the S3 as was in contract, now have an S4

I could have waited for the S4 but impatience got the better of me :D

Might be worth giving them a ring on 789 perhaps?

Hope it won't be too long before you get it.

What is your firmware version. The S2 phones VM have sold directly are XEU

It seems that there are some on Virgin Mobile but sold via Carphone Warehouse that have their own firmware version - that hasn't yet started to get the update

Ben bought mine from VM shop in Swansea. Are you talking about the baseband version?

Got this on KIES PDA:LPT/PHONE:LQ6/CSC:LPA(CPW)
