Re: Tech Guy did it perfect
It is on topic!
He said he got 100mb, I stated that the modulation seemed wrong, and it carried on from there discussing here and there. I initially said but did not start the debate, so why am I being fingered out. Besides, like someone said - Is there a topic. Hell even Telford has went off tangents also. Ok, I will be nice about this... Dear Maggy J, What is the topic of this said thread please? |

---------- Post added at 19:25 ---------- Previous post was at 19:22 ---------- It cost me nearly £4,300 to upgrade, downgrade with ADSL and Virgin Media Cable since 2002 and 2007. My monies going to ran out in my bank! |

Re: Tech Guy did it perfect
from what pip pasted and what dabhand is saying I get the impression SCDMA is superior and would have a noticeble impact on jitter however is more diffilcult to get working optimally. So still seems like VM just went for the easiest and cheapest option of upgrading the upstream, they simply went one step up doing the minimal as docsis1 was already maxed out. When they had the opportunity to do a much better upgrade jump by utilising 40mbit channels and this SCDMA mode. does anyone know what comcast and other cable providers are utilising?

Oh dear ,it's a good job VM don't have anymore packages for you to try It would appear that each time you have upgraded/dpwngraded then you have been charged a substantial ammpunt of money ,possibly the cost of the contract ,so once again........ WHY? |

Chrys, I note you only refer to the advantages of SCDMA and seem to ignore the disadvantages as does DABhand. AFAIK (which is limited) it is only used for mobile eg 3G etc. Igni is the best one to answer perhaps. |
Re: Tech Guy did it perfect
£4,300 isn't coming from my money! It from government tax money that paid for me!
Virgin Media customer support ask me why do I kept upgrade and downgrade and it cost alots of money to pay installation and activation charge and I told them "look it none of your business, do u want my business ?" and they went ahead and say "it your money sir" |

Government tax money ,what do you mean by that ? |
Re: Tech Guy did it perfect
He is talking pants. Firstly the video he posted is not date stamped etc so could be from someone else on another forum etc. I would be more impressed if he had this forum page on the video then onto a speed test by minimizing or swapping tabs.
Plus he did say in a post earlier that the monies in his bank is going to run out. I dunno sounds like he is a type of person who longs to be better than others so invents situations to suit. IMHO. |

Re: Tech Guy did it perfect
Ok that shows something that is done just after 8pm, but that could be yesterday, last week, last month - and again no reference to this post to see that it is indeed today. So you may well be on 100mb. But if you are doing all this and paying monies from the "government". Then why are you so eager to downgrade and upgrade while paying cancellation fees etc?
You will never always get 100mb, it all depends on the other server you are getting from, perhaps their maximum upstream is 50mb, so you will get 50mb from them assuming no one else is getting at the time. So just stick at it and use it. Don't see the reason why you make these posts.... I just don't know, maybe something in the water at Telford. |
