<yorkshire accent on> Ae, when I wer't lad, we didn't have none of them fancy telescopic sights - we had proper rifles, then, like SLRs, which could knock a man down at 1000 yards (you couldn't see them, but if they got in the way, they were in trouble)<yorkshire accent off>

(They didn't half give you a nasty bruise on your shoulder, though, if you didn't tuck them in tight):D

Yep, I joined up in early 1990, still had the old L1a1 and it's the first rifle I ever stripped down for a job.. Though not the first firearm I ever shot... ;) I was 8 when I first shot a .357 snub nose, though it did have a reduced/rubber round in it as the neighbour kept complaining that his old garage couldn't cope with any more holes... Oh the joys of being brought up in a gun orientated culture ;)

I went in, in '88 and was trained on the old Banana as well. The re-trained on the L85 (bag of poo) and eventually the L96A1. Oh and had some fun with a m82 on a couple of occasions as well.... Like you I was shooting at a young age as well.... First on an .22 Air Rifle, then a .22 Rimfire Rifle and finally a shotty.... The joys of having family that owned a farm. :D

Mind you the Chinese get it right, they'd charge the cost of the bullet to his family ;)

Indeed.... Then harvest the internal organs for sale and transplant, then suck out any Botoxin and sell that to vain westeners to inject into their faces. Oh the irony ! :D
