Re: [Merged] PC freezes and wont install Vista
if i was you i would get some dvd's not cheap ones then download a copy of vista and then try that if that works then you will know it is the disc, but this is a strange problem as you say xp installs fine but if crashes when installing vista got me stumped id try a new vista disc if possible.

Re: [Merged] PC freezes and wont install Vista
All i can say is, Vista is a nightmare full stop. Btw Darth I am having the same probs installing Vista. It either freezes, or it took seven hours to eventaully install. Really considering if i can get a refund by taking it back hahaha.
Even at work the network manager refuses to have anything to do with it, I quote "it burns me it burms me" he shouts if he looks at a picture of vista :) Once it was up and running I soon wanted Xp Pro back on. Or linux on my works pc, that still works a dream :)))))) |
Re: [Merged] PC freezes and wont install Vista

Re: [Merged] PC freezes and wont install Vista
Glad you finally got it sorted. I've never had problems with that ever, even for my customers... but i only use IDE optical drives and not SATA, which is where i still think the problem is tbh.
