Re: STB changing channels on its own

I've got a an old C&W Pace box (Manchester area) and had the Ch7 problem a couple of times. Also had the Now / Next being out of date and long delays in the box responding to channel changes etc. I press Channel Down and nothing happens so I do it again and again and still nothing. Then half a min later it jumps down3 or 4 channels.
On top of all that I'm getting terrible lip-sync problems - seems to get worse after the TV has been on an hour or 2. Or is this a fault with my TV ????
AaaaHHHHHHH !

Re: STB changing channels on its own

Only happened once tonight, jumped to channel 7, I think it was during a break either during or just after QI on 32. Don't know if it is a connected problem or not but the now and next box is still showing what was on at 11pm this evening.

Leeds area, not sure what model the pace box is, sorry.

Re: STB changing channels on its own

Happened to me last night, first time I have noticed it, but recently i havnt been watchin much evening TV.
It happened while i was watchin the 10pm BBC News, it just turned over to the Frontrow channel.
Other problems I've had are that last Sunday i had the problem with the EPG showing information that was 2 or 3 hours behind. Also when i change channel sometimes it hangs for about 10-15 seconds before it actually changes over.

I live in Bromley and I have a Samsung Box

Re: STB changing channels on its own

Well, no channel 7 this morning but it did have a little moment last night where it picked some random channels again.

Stopped after about 30 seconds and wouldn't do it again no matter how hard I tried!

Hi gregorious, and :welcome:

It sounds like you might have a signal or STB problem, which is seperate to this known issue. You can still catch broadband technical support - they're open until midnight on 0845 650 0125 if you get your broadband service through your STB. :)

Re: STB changing channels on its own

Our Pace Di 4000 also changes channel to channel 7.

This happens normally during daylight hours when our low energy bulbs are not on, the batteries in the remote are fresh. It can be quite annoying watching the cricket on 4 and then wham its channel 7!

:Yikes:

Re: STB changing channels on its own

I can not be bothered reading all this thread so I have had a very quick flick thru (sorry if this has been told already) there is a "software" bug out at the mo and ntl are working on it.....you will know if you have this fault if:
Your box changes to channel 7 or
your remote takes time to change the channel/does not respond or
your fav list has been messed up

Does anybody what is causing the problem?

Same here, also have anything upto 10 channels disappear then reappear again later

Normally Total Channels reads 296 which is correct

When channels disappear, it can be anything from 286 to 294 channels total, instead of 296

BTW, I have Samsung 2100C STB on Bromley v3.1 (Gosport, Hampshire)

Quote from the instruction leaflet for the remote:

"You may sometimes notice that your set-top box does not respond when you press keys on the remote. This happens when your set-top box is busy updating its TV programme listings. Your remote control is not faulty. Wait a few moments, and then try again."
