Add to that the fact that CF members are aware of the upgrade when I guess many customers aren't so..... the chances are you'll still get it before most. |

It would be a wasted technician visit- and these visits cost ntl rather a lot of money. |

Firstly, most fo the Pace boxes have no problems at all. Secondly, when ntl first starting using Pace, 1meg wasn't even heard of, let alone 3 or 4, so NO, they couldn't have worked out that for some customers these boxes would've been redundant. Thirdly, not every customer wants speeds over 1meg, so it would not have been at all sensible/wise/financially clever to go round buying and sending out crews to replace one set top box with another. You need to think about these things before you post. |
Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 4)
I cannot believe how many people are complaining about the upgrade.
It's a free upgrade, be happy, if you havn't got it and are moaning that you should get compensation, then think again, what have NTL got to lose? |

With the STB's remember that a signal has to be sent to the box, the customer then has to go through the re-registration process involving PID and password and then a reboot. Can you imagine the chaos yesterday if the signals had been sent, in effect knocking off thousands of customers broadband service :erm: Think I'd have got my coat and walked if there had been 1000 calls in the Q. As it was, it was a steady day and customers genuinely pleased with a free upgrade when they rang to enquire. Any customers now who want "compensation" will have a £50 charge applied for the ntl staff boozathon at Christmas ;) :drunk:

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 4)
well i just rand cs to get my stb upgraded, was told i can NOT apply to have my stb upgraded untill it goes live in my area (heywood, rochdale). which i think is utter crap because if i wait for it to go live in this area and then ring cs again for my new stb i bet they give me a lead time of at least 1 month.
why not just upgrade my stb now and have me ready in time to benefit from the new speed ! |
