Re: binary newsgroups on NTL

Might be wrong but:

news.cable.ntl.com & news.ntlworld.com = news.ntli.net and is load balanced over

62.243.162.201
62.243.162.202
62.243.162.203
62.243.162.205
62.243.162.206
62.243.162.207.

None of these ip addresses are responding to pings tonight.

Tracing route to the server stops at "win-dc-b-v903.inet.ntl.com" (213.105.174.38)

Looks like it's all been switched off :mad::mad:

Those ip addresses you quoted resolve to tele.dk here ????

Standing Corrected

62.253.162.201
62.253.162.202
62.253.162.203
62.253.162.205
62.253.162.206
62.253.162.207

With a mistake like that you could be excused for thinking I worked for NTL :erm:

From Tescos service status

http://memberservices.tesco.net/Tesc...iceStatus.aspx

(Tesco piggy back on NTL news.tesco.net = news.ntli.net)

How do I find out the iprange for newsservers please? Or news addresses?

Re: binary newsgroups on NTL

Fixed?

Dumped a few groups headers and did a compare between those groups on Astraweb v NTL and NTL has many missing/incomplete posts after the 19th!

I know of two meanings for the word 'fixed' too! One means to have repaired something so it works as it did before:

"The mechanic FIXED his car so it ran like new"

Or another meaning of 'fixed' implies damage/alteration of something so it doesn't work as it did before:

"The incompetent mechanic FIXED his car so it wouldn't work at all"

Wonder which version of 'fixed' NTL have applied here?

There is another note, where they say that all customers experience problems with e-mail and news groups and they are awar about it and are working on it.
