Re: NTL has almost left the building!

In Neil's defence, he's only stating his opinion. I really don't think it will do any good reopening the pro/anti ntl debate again. I feel the direction of the site is spot on, and I am perfectly happy helping here whenever I get the chance.

Me...I'm not 'pro-ntl' or 'anti-ntl'.....I am 'pro-customer'. Simple as that.

Neil can say what he likes - just 'cos he's an admin/mod or whatever - he's still also a member of this forum.

You don't have to agree or like it.

Simple - if you think he's overstepped the mark then report him!

Good point!

I don't see why people are jumping on Neil - he is just as entitled to his opinion as anyone else here. I had bad experiences with NTL so I got rid and moved over to Sky but, just 'cos I don't use NTL anymore doesn't mean that I (or anybody else for that matter) no longer have the right to express what we feel about it.

Anyway, at least Neil's been consistent - he's always thought NTL were rubbish and sticks by that.

I'd just like to point out that it's no Neil I was having a go at, I was just using his post as an example as to why I feel this site sometimes gives off a less professional feel than it probably could.

It's difficult to say anything else with regards to the site as I tend to get attacked by the same members every time I post.

You see that's the problem, people feel that because someone opposes their opinion, or disagrees with it, that they are being attacked-thats is not the case.

I am disagreeing with what people have posted about me/this site here, but I am not attacking them.

You cannot expect to put forward a point of view & get the hump because people don't agree, & say you are being attacked.

I'm not getting the hump man, I don't mind people not agreeing, it's people who feel they have to argue with me but actually have nothing to say on the subject other than "it's better than .com" so on and so forth.

Like I said I was meraly offering constructive critisim on why I feel this site feels "odd" for want of a better word, compared to how it use to be at the old place.

Just trying to explain why I find I can't use this site on a regular basis anymore.

I do understand, & I know you weren't trying to get at me personally. :)

It will always be difficult as .com was such a success (for various reasons!)

We are not trying to be .com, we are trying to take the best bits & enhance them.

Stick around, post a bit more & you never know-you may enjoy it here! :D

Re: NTL has almost left the building!

If there were not people who had their grievances with NTL then this site would never have existed in the first place.

They are a necessary evil in the constant struggle by the users to get the services that they are paying for, whether they be site admin/owners or just plain users they should all be allowed to put their view of what they think about their ISP whichever it is.

If there was no problems with NTL at all then this site would not exist & the users would not come here asking for help in the first place as they would not need it.

Neil's attitude may seem to have changed since the older .com days, but then wasn't he under some form of contract with them? Its all different now & any restrictions will have been lifted.

OB mentioned to me that Bifta has been having problems with Pipex, although I knew full well about that thread & I think I am it somewhere (if not another like it) where Bifta constantly drones on how crap he thinks Pipex are, getting very hot under the collar about it.

Whats the difference?

"nothing".

Neil should be allowed to say how much he dislikes NTL as much as Bifta can say how much he dislikes Pipex. If Neil was not permitted the right to voice his opinions then why should he even bother with the site at all? why should he put his time & effort into it if he cannot even say what he thinks when everyone else gets to?

I think that a lot of people are being rather unfair to him & expecting much more than they should from him.

Get off of his back, if you dont like it & want to leave the site over something as petty as this then its your loss.
