Just got a chance to see it. From the sounds of some of the dialogue coming from the Alice Krige Borg Queen, there are indeed now Borg factions, and she isn’t leading the main one. It would however make sense that she would be the one with the biological connection to Jack Crusher, seeing as she was the one who created Locutus.

Perhaps we'll see Borg v Borg in the final episode .. (unlikely I know, but hey, anything seems possible).

Possibly. I also noticed there seemed to be no drones aboard the Krige Cube. Maybe the Jurati Borg have them all.

I saw a couple in the background.

They could turn up as a reunion and save the day :)

The Enterprise alone is not gonna beat the fleet on their own so there has to be a peaceful way or they get help from somewhere.

Just watched the final episode and enjoyed it. Word to everyone, don't turn it off until after the credits or you'll miss something.

And without giving anything away, this weeks special appearance from President Chekov made me smile.

Just watched finale.

Mostly everything wrapped up nicely by the end. A bit underwhelming but it was fine. No major deaths, everyone lives to another day.

Wharf and Data were fun.
Nice little posthumous nod from Shaw to Seven.

Credits scene answered a Q left hanging from last season and it leaves an opening for a spinoff. (I have no idea if there is one)

I hope not. Or least not with Q. I am sick of Q and want no more Q in my life

Good ending, and they definitely set up a spin off.
I wonder if it will happen (seems an odd thing to do if not).

Oh, and I like Q. :D

[John is 75 though, makes you wonder how much he might be involved if it happened]

Whatever that was they just set up with The Enterprise G, had better be getting its own series, or I’ll be absolutely gutted.

It’s a certainty. Discovery is awful, Strange new worlds has a finite expiry date. Leaving a void.

This new spin off has established characters, and can lean into the whole TNG, DS9, Voyager universe. They’ve probably already started filming it.

Picard S3 was as perfect as it gets. For me, anyway.

I found the story line a little odd, putting their entire fleet in one system for a celebration?

What about defending their borders?

The Romulan empire is long gone and relations with the Klingons are peaceful. The Dominion threat is assumed to have long been neutralised and nobody has heard from the Borg in decades.*

In any case space is enormous and it is frequently stated in dialogue throughout all the show’s iterations, whenever something goes south, that the nearest ship is ‘X days/hours away’ - never very close. They could never build enough ships to have one pop up anywhere within Federation territory on an hour’s notice, and Starfleet seems to rely primarily on listening posts and planetary defences rather than concentrations of battleships (also remember Starfleet is supposed to be primarily an exploration and research organisation, with local peacekeeping a secondary mission and war-fighting way down the list).

*By which they apparently mean the prime collective ruled by the Alice Krige queen, which was seen being neutralised at the end of ST:VOY. There arehints here that there are now recognised Borg factions, possibly for timey-wimey reasons connected with Jurati becoming a Borg queen in the 21st century and founding a new collective from the hive knowledge she had gained in the alternate timeline spawned by Q’s interference. Jurati’s appeal for help from Starfleet in Season 2 is not regarded as a ‘classic Borg’ encounter and may have been kept secret from Federation citizens.

Well it's not exactly an original idea. It's basically the same set up as Battle Star Galactica.
