If that blatant barge into Rashfords back by Lascelles had been anywhere else a free kick would have been given. No attempt to play the ball and definitely not shoulder to shoulder.

Pretty miraculous to escape a card from a blatant dismissal. Pretty much sums up his Newcastle career. A mix of ******** and sheer frustration at playing awful football.

It's all going downhill again. Rafa is clearly all but done. His interviews are an indication of his faith that any takeovers will go through and he's done with the club.

It does, only things the ref doesnt see qualify for retrospective punishment or it'll undermine the officials apparently by re-refereeing incidents, that's what the authorities say anyway, sounds like bs to me

adzii_nufc 03-01-2019 15:19

Re: Season 2018/2019

Aye. The whole undermining the officials thing. Just a another thing broken with the standard of refereeing. I think Pogba took the whole incident remarkably well though. The lower that challenge gets and it could have been so much worse.

Still think it should be looked at on the grounds it looked rather deliberate to be fair. There's completely fluffing it and being late but Shelvey was like a bull there. It's undefendable and you'll not find many Newcastle fans defending it.

All good and well noting it's our creativity that's generally prevented goals. Rondon alone would suffice if he actually got chances to take. That was kinda the idea behind targeting Almiron. Need to be better going forward but improving from the middle not the front. Shelvey isn't at the races right now.

Almiron agent says personal terms for Newcastle move are accepted but Newcastle are lowballing the transfer fee. So far submitting a bid of £17 million. 8 million shy of the asking price.

Can imagine they'd deal on £20 million but this will go the way of Newcastle's ridiculous bids for Lacazette a few January's ago when they were submitting £25 million offers for a player they wanted double for.

It is a matter of fact that United have and always have had a higher ‘percentage ‘ of season ticket holders living at Manchester post codes than do Man City.:p:

Cristiano Ronaldo goal sinks Milan as he hands himself his first trophy at Juventus. Incredible. 8 goals in 7 Cup finals. It's a shame the transfer fee was still so large otherwise he could move to Bayern in the summer to net a trophy and then land at PSG to finish it up. After what he'd apparently consider a goal drought he's catching up with 14 goals in 19 games and that's his bad form apparently. :erm: Meanwhile we have Joselu.

Benitez confirms Newcastle exit if they fail to make signings this window. A week to go. Kenyon falling short and Benitez to leave at the seasons close.

Good luck to Mike Ashley. He'd be lucky to get Harry Redknapp to take the job.

Gary Lineker slammed on twitter after calling out Ronaldo over plane tweet. Was absolutely no issue and Lineker went and made one. Cracking job if he wants to become the Piers Morgan of football.

Newcastle named 19th Richest club in the world. Again. But don't forget how skint we are. :erm: 108% revenue increase.

Literally don't know what to say anymore. I'd be beyond stunned if Mike Ashley ever got near another football club. It's no wonder Kenyon is desperate to get in there.

Game on, but a pleasure to watch all the same. Your whipping boy Lukaka has laid on both goals.

A frantic start to the second half, need another goal from United ASAP.

Anyway, shouldn’t you be watching the cricket. :)

With the defences on both sides there is highly likely to be more goals.

Do you think Jose would have subbed Rashford and Martial for Sanchez and Lukaku with a 2-1 lead.?

:D

Still not in the ‘give Ole the job’ camp but would certainly favour giving the current management team a go, getting Phelan back on board is massive.

And the last United manager to win 8 on the trot was none other than Jose, a long way to go yet, Oles' not exactly going to throw his dummy out before the end of the season.

The Wombles from Wimbledon can play a bit !

Tbh the FA cup isn't been my taken seriously by some of the 'big' clubs. Maybe they should reserve a Champions League place for the winner? Maybe they'd take it more seriously then and give the hope to some of the smallest non-league clubs that they could potentially be in the Champions League next year !

West Ham have been pretty shocking though as you would get better defending from a local Sunday league side IMO.

Re: Season 2018/2019

Ole shouldn't get the job. Man United are capable of so much more. All he's done is take the muzzle off the team that Jose put on. I don't think he's a leader as such. Just a bloke that's given them the freedom to play how they want. Is it a bad thing? Definitely not. Imagine is someone else can get this out of them and then some.

Overall I'm sure he's a welcome temporary fix but there's someone out there that can improve upon this and make them formidable.
