Manchester United are alive.

Re: Season 2018/2019
Can't complain even with the quality of the opposition in last three games. Still can't keep a clean sheet and the red card wasn't clever either. :(

If that blatant barge into Rashfords back by Lascelles had been anywhere else a free kick would have been given. No attempt to play the ball and definitely not shoulder to shoulder.

Contrast that with the Lindelof challenge just now, clear shoulder to shoulder.
---------- Post added at 22:02 ---------- Previous post was at 21:26 ---------- Fully deserved win, harder game than last three, a filthy challenge from Shelvey on Pogba. |
Re: Season 2018/2019
Pretty miraculous to escape a card from a blatant dismissal. Pretty much sums up his Newcastle career. A mix of ******** and sheer frustration at playing awful football.
It's all going downhill again. Rafa is clearly all but done. His interviews are an indication of his faith that any takeovers will go through and he's done with the club. |

Aye. The whole undermining the officials thing. Just a another thing broken with the standard of refereeing. I think Pogba took the whole incident remarkably well though. The lower that challenge gets and it could have been so much worse.
Still think it should be looked at on the grounds it looked rather deliberate to be fair. There's completely fluffing it and being late but Shelvey was like a bull there. It's undefendable and you'll not find many Newcastle fans defending it. Quote:

All good and well noting it's our creativity that's generally prevented goals. Rondon alone would suffice if he actually got chances to take. That was kinda the idea behind targeting Almiron. Need to be better going forward but improving from the middle not the front. Shelvey isn't at the races right now.

Pants to the Premiership, it's meaningless. Money, foreign players and TV fans. However FA Cup this weekend, where they'll be a few scalps on the line ;)

Not Spurs though, a 7-0 win tonight. And I was working so couldn't watch it. Grr. Who has the highlights of it this season? BBC still?

Half of the top flight teams don't even want to be in the competition to be fair. FA Cup reaching the prestige of the Europa league.
It's alright when you can field two teams and still fly through. Don't be shocked to see Newcastle go out alongside Cardiff. |

Peter Kenyon hoping to conclude the deal to takeover Newcastle. Very rarely hear anything from the buyers side. Wonder if this was to establish himself as the favourite after Gary Cook randomly chimed in.

Re: Season 2018/2019
Great result for Oldham today, can’t understand why VAR didn’t rule out the Fulham penalty though. Just watched the highlights and there was no discernible contact. Justice was done with a brilliant save and subsequent winner.:o:

Drogba was a bit of an arse to be fair but was a cracking player and Chelsea legend. Only he could score a 90th minute equaliser in a champions league final, give away a penalty and then score the winning penalty.

Perhaps as well that him and Hazard didn't play together that much if at all.

Re: Season 2018/2019
Almiron agent says personal terms for Newcastle move are accepted but Newcastle are lowballing the transfer fee. So far submitting a bid of £17 million. 8 million shy of the asking price.
Can imagine they'd deal on £20 million but this will go the way of Newcastle's ridiculous bids for Lacazette a few January's ago when they were submitting £25 million offers for a player they wanted double for. |
Re: Season 2018/2019
Richard Keys and Rio Ferdinand slammed for Newcastle United comments. Rio's comments are naive but Keys' true colours are worrying for a guy that was employed at Sky Sports for a decent time. Horrible despicable bloke.
His mouth without a filter really shows the work sky sports and other media outlets do. Seems to have a massive anti Liverpool and Benitez agenda that's subsequently followed Benitez to Newcastle. |

Re: Season 2018/2019
Cristiano Ronaldo goal sinks Milan as he hands himself his first trophy at Juventus. Incredible. 8 goals in 7 Cup finals. It's a shame the transfer fee was still so large otherwise he could move to Bayern in the summer to net a trophy and then land at PSG to finish it up. After what he'd apparently consider a goal drought he's catching up with 14 goals in 19 games and that's his bad form apparently. :erm: Meanwhile we have Joselu.

The Wombles from Wimbledon can play a bit !
Tbh the FA cup isn't been my taken seriously by some of the 'big' clubs. Maybe they should reserve a Champions League place for the winner? Maybe they'd take it more seriously then and give the hope to some of the smallest non-league clubs that they could potentially be in the Champions League next year ! |
Re: Season 2018/2019
West Ham have been pretty shocking though as you would get better defending from a local Sunday league side IMO.
|
Re: Season 2018/2019
Ole shouldn't get the job. Man United are capable of so much more. All he's done is take the muzzle off the team that Jose put on. I don't think he's a leader as such. Just a bloke that's given them the freedom to play how they want. Is it a bad thing? Definitely not. Imagine is someone else can get this out of them and then some.
Overall I'm sure he's a welcome temporary fix but there's someone out there that can improve upon this and make them formidable. |
