As I am still in the middle of my major back garden project I only watched the first four overs. I thought that the Aussie score was a good fifty or more runs than England would get.:(
I think my time was much better spent, just need a good hot day for the railings to dry out before I treat them. |

Why thank you Den, my back is telling me I need a good soak in the bath now, as for England they look to be heading home early, at least they haven't far to go.:(

224 will still take some getting on this wicket against this bowling attack. Don’t lose early wickets is the key.
|
Re: English Cricket
bowlers did a very good job now for the batsmen to do there job
|
Re: English Cricket
Joe Root playing as he can could be critical.

Surely we've got to fancy our chances against NZ? If it was India or Pakistan I'd be doubtful, but the momentum is with us. Famous last words.... Be surprised if Roy doesn't get done for dissent even if was a crap decision, hopefully not a 1 match ban ! |

Lancashire have certainly felt the benefit of Glen Maxwell's availability thanks to England's thrashing of the Aussies. :)

Re: English Cricket
Well that was rather entertaining ! . Feel for anyone who wasted time watching boring F1/tennis ;) We got the luck today, and tbh if it's tied after a super over, the trophy should be shared. However thems the rules and we have deserved it over the last few years Thank goodness we have an Irish captain and West Indian fast bowler :)

Re: English Cricket
Went to my mum's for a BBQ yesterday, and with 3 overs left I thought that's it and mum was ready to take me home. Then it looked possible again and nobody moved from the TV until the conclusion. Even my sister, who shows no interest in sport, got into it. Was a great match with lots of drama and a real contrast to the round robin stage because at one point England were on the verge of not getting out of the group. Let's hope we can defend it in 4 years time.

See we've given the Irish a nice green wicket to bowl on.... Very sporting I must say !
|
Re: English Cricket
And gave them first use as well. :(

Re: English Cricket
It was predictable really. Irish the game of their lives, us still dizzy from the WC, and concentrating on the Ashes. Still think we'll win though, but its made the game interesting !

It was a very poor pitch. If they dish up the same for the Ashes I fear for our batting line up if Ireland can bowl us out for 85.

If Smith hadn't been the last recognised batsman they may have reviewed it.

Re: English Cricket
Think Australia have more than enough for a decent first innings lead, Anderson crocked as well. :(
|
Re: English Cricket
Smith could be the difference in this series. The only batsman that can stay there for any length of time.
Whoever passed Anderson fit needs shooting - that could cost us the First Test. Maybe its the end of the line for the old boy. |

At Old Trafford for Lancs v Notts T20 Lancs unbeaten record in serious danger, 35 for 4 of 9 overs at one stage 151 for 6 after 20 overs. Still 30 or 40 short with Alex Hales batting. But wait a minute, Lancs get a wicket with first ball just like Notts did, game on.:)

Crazy is putting it mildly, half the Aussie side have played county ‘red ball’ cricket this season, they are currently playing a 3 day ‘red ball’ game v Worcester whilst the England test players twiddle their thumbs.
