As I am still in the middle of my major back garden project I only watched the first four overs. I thought that the Aussie score was a good fifty or more runs than England would get.:(

I think my time was much better spent, just need a good hot day for the railings to dry out before I treat them.

When the pressure has been on England's batting has crumbled sadly Jim.

We overate ourselves, we've become complacent. If attacking doesn't work, we don't have a Plan B. Being called favourites was the worst thing that could of happened. Can't see us beating India, and NZ won't be easy. Then Australia and the Ashes, and they've already beaten us twice this summer; they are a side on the way back up again , bad timing !

Ho hum, footy season soon anyway.....

Surely we've got to fancy our chances against NZ? If it was India or Pakistan I'd be doubtful, but the momentum is with us. Famous last words....

Be surprised if Roy doesn't get done for dissent even if was a crap decision, hopefully not a 1 match ban !

Went to my mum's for a BBQ yesterday, and with 3 overs left I thought that's it and mum was ready to take me home. Then it looked possible again and nobody moved from the TV until the conclusion. Even my sister, who shows no interest in sport, got into it. Was a great match with lots of drama and a real contrast to the round robin stage because at one point England were on the verge of not getting out of the group. Let's hope we can defend it in 4 years time.

Given the fragility of England's and Australia's batting line ups and the strengths of their bowling attacks the test matches could be over in 3 days.

Some of these pitches in England this summer would not be suitable for a pub match to be played on.

Smith could be the difference in this series. The only batsman that can stay there for any length of time.

Whoever passed Anderson fit needs shooting - that could cost us the First Test. Maybe its the end of the line for the old boy.

At Old Trafford for Lancs v Notts T20 Lancs unbeaten record in serious danger, 35 for 4 of 9 overs at one stage 151 for 6 after 20 overs. Still 30 or 40 short with Alex Hales batting. But wait a minute, Lancs get a wicket with first ball just like Notts did, game on.:)

Not looking good with three wickets down already as England have some serious thinking to do to whom they select for the next test.

Hold it over the other side of the Pennines mate, it never rains and the sun always shines in God's Own County ;)

I was travelling across the A59 the other day, and the rain started as soon as I crossed that border....

Well that was disappointing, I suppose the Yorkies will be happy, a point they had no chance of and they will get their money back.

Doubtless, but both in the same summer is barmy. Money rules ok as far as the ECB is concerned, the Ashes just gets devalued by playing it so often. Anyway they'll have to refund everybody for yesterday, and maybe more days.

So what month would you have liked the World cup to be held Mr K ? as it was Englands turn to host the tournament as dates have to be mentioned to all the major players via their cricketing boards and then that has to be agreeable to all the cricketing nations who are in the World cup before dates are then agreed for the tournament.
