You say that, but apart from a few hours on its launch, GTA:Online has been near perfect for me

Exactly, it took me a few days to get on and get through the initial part of GTA:O but once I was on that was it.
If you follow R* guide to always quit back to SP if you can't be connected and never go through the character wheel if you player doesn't show up then you should be fine.

They should have renamed this a public beta, and had that running until Dec 31st.

I said a disaster of a launch not online as a whole?

I feel I'm well within reason to say so given they're still fixing the fundamentals 30 days after release. It was no different than the other 2 releases I listed, typically, Release > Server fell over for days on end. Sure, 2 million got through, including you, what about the other 13 million players that were treat to a vanishing tutorial car?

There is a drawing that mentions the UFOs and that has a drawing of a jetpack.

I think it might be in the location of the nerve gas mission

Streaming setup has went down before I could finish my proper release. Looks like the Mobo has fried. Isn't a big deal as I've another build coming on and should be finished by the 20th.

The project is called bad sport. I'm glorifying the ugly side of the game. Going out of my way to stick bombs to everyone's personal vehicle. Ignition bombs on my super car collection. Rigging LSC with explosives so no one can enter. It really shows how people can get annoyed over simple things as I capture their responses. Honestly about 10 people were chasing down a simeon car only for me to appear out of the sky and drop a bomb on it.

The second project is Race. This is quite exciting for me as the possibilities are endless. Races look like scenes from a Michael Bay movie.

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

I'd be interested to see these videos. I tried to get into the LS Customs near Rockford Hills, but some guy was either in it or on top of it and I couldn't enter.

I didn't want to mess about as I was driving the $22,000 Felon GT from Martin's Lawyer mission. So I turned around and parked it back in my garage.

But I am intrigued as to how they could block access, not so I can recreate it, but just so I can work out a way to overcome it. It's a long old journey to the other two in Los Santos.

The patches are specifically targeting the LSC selling glitch. It's pretty surprising Rockstar didn't manage to get it done first time. Albeit I'm hoping it's fixed this time. I'm sick of seeing 5-6 people all driving into LSC and quitting then having another 8 do the same thing. It's hard to find a stable lobby when this is going on.

There was a seperate glitch that allowed people to 1) Login to online as one of the three main characters 1a) abusing this glitch to gain up to 5 levels a second. 2) Become invincible with the ability to fire back.

If they give me c4, fighter jets and tanks then I'm going to destroy everything and everyone that's not on my side again for recording purposes only. I'm out of the bad sport lobby now and have found ways to stay out and still wreck everything in sight. Video purposes only. Afterwards I'll go back to making millions and just leaving a remote bomb armed super car beside LSC as my daily entertainment.

Bad sport is pointless and hypocritical from a game that prides itself on carnage. With massive pressure to remove it, it's only a matter of time before it happens. There's invite only sessions so the problem is minimal.

Solution is simple. 2 separate free roam lobbies. One with jets and all the typical GTA features enabled and one that has minimal weapons and destructive vehicles. The way it currently is has flaws. Rank up to ridiculously high levels for tanks and jets... get punished for using them.

It's even funnier sitting outside of the insurance place waiting for them to claim only to stick a bomb on it and watch them drive off. :)

I'd like to think I'm more of a cunning Assassin than a terrorist. Except when I'm levelling the entire server with a tank. Then I'm George Bush.

I generally do:

Rig LSC with C4.
Steal people's Vehicles with the cargobob.
Rig their cars with explosives whilst they're away.
Cause a blockage at LSC usually ending up with 5 or so personal vehicles piled up for a hefty shot with an rpg.
Ignition bomb my super car collection.

I guess some people just want to watch the world burn.

I logged on for the first time in a few weeks last night to get my money and buy an apartment.

I've gone with 3 Alta St Apartment 57, for just over $200k. Also modded my RH8 as much as I can (which isn't much at the moment as most things are locked).

v0id, was that you buzzing my door? If so, sorry! I was downstairs, and by the time my character had slowly walked back upstairs to the front door (why no running in apartments and garages?) there was no one there.

As for the bad sport thing... I don't think it works. It does not penalise people who camp outside LSC or those who go around spawn-killing, it just penalises those who destroy personal vehicles...

So what if someone destroys a personal vehicle? They can be insured! If someone trashes your car, they pay the insurance cost of the replacement. If you trash someone else's, you pay the insurance cost of the replacement.

I've seen many posts from people who destroyed personal vehicles *as revenge* against people who were spawn killing them or camping them at LSC, and yet they were labelled as "bad sports", rather than the ones who really were bad sports.

Campers and guns are hopeless. Auto aim makes it so lopsided that you either bring out a tank or a jet. I'm sick of being hit by a pistol to the head whilst I'm travelling at 100mph. So I treat them and their possessions to a missile at 400mph.

You can't solely blame people. The online portion of the game just has too many messed up mechanics. Who in their right mind thought a built in aim bot was a good idea? Or that passive mode only protects you on foot. Those two things would solve most of the problems.

Don't like auto aim? Turn it off and play with others who have it off. I only have it on because I regularly play with others who have it on.

I don't see how that helps. Sure a private lobby with a few mates but everyone else likely still has it turned on and I know which one kills quicker. Did you play RDR? that had it sussed.

It's a sandbox game based around murder and chaos. I think you're confusing it with animal crossing.

Because in today's gaming world, annoying the crap out of someone on purpose is for some people fun. I can't say I'm innocent. I've blown up tonnes of crap but also found myself annoyed and in the same boat when I'm just there for the chill.

But rather than cursing people that are never going to change, look at rockstar to provide alternatives. A lobby in which explosives are disabled? A complete passive mode lobby where you and your items are invincible to the weapons of other players.

Stephen 09-11-2013 23:05

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Why should Rockstar have to make other gaming lobbies just because some people can't just behave a bit more and just try to enjoy the game.

adzii_nufc 09-11-2013 23:21

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Well why should people behave? It's not against the rules to do what they do. They're given guns and equipment to cause mayhem and it's a sandbox game. Telling people to behave themselves in a game called Grand Theft Auto is absurd. Either Rockstar does something about it or people simply aren't doing anything wrong. There's no if's or but's about it. People are enjoying the game by the means they see fit, if that's blowing stuff up and within the rules rockstar laid out then I don't see the problem.

It's like playing cod and berating people for shooting at you because you were busy enjoying the scenery.

Stephen 09-11-2013 23:31

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Not at all. nothing of the sort. Also that just sounds silly.

adzii_nufc 09-11-2013 23:36

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Rockstar is under pressure to remove the bad sport feature anyway. I'm lucky enough to be in a position where I'm quite happy to shoot back if set upon, i'll let my rockets fly free and just get on with it. If someone blows up my car it costs me nothing and it's not that big of a deal. In fact it costs them 10k every time they do it, so it's more amusing.

GTAO Is still a work in progress amid a poor but acceptable start to Rockstar's online credentials. The game is certainly nowhere near where people would like it to be but it'll forever keep changing and improving based on the consumers input.

Agree with you totally there. I think I did the first jump with him, but after that I try to ignore his calls where possible.
I actually find myself doing less job based work and more races and survival games.

Either that or hunting bounties. Which reminds me of one this morning. I joined a server with only one other player. I was notified that he had a $7000 bounty on him, so I thought it'd be fun to chase him with no other competition.
As I got closer I noticed he wasn't moving, I sensed a trap, so I edged closer. Only to find him enjoying the services of a lady behind the strip club. One bullet to the head (the one I could see) I collected the bounty and drove away.

I started the game the over day and jumped to Michael who was giving his son some cash, the son then got out and walked away I was about to drive away when I noticed a flash sports car next to me.

I got out and liberated it from the owner and drove of at a rapid rate of knots, and ran over his son, to then hear Michael cry "NO GOD NO". I reloaded just in case.

I tried to shoot him later but no luck, next time to try explosive weapons.

Dr Gonzo 15-11-2013 10:33

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

You can't kill any of Michael's family. If you do run them over or accidentally throw a grenade into the house when they are all sitting down eating and kill them, all that happens is you'll end up with a snotty text from them and they'll deduct money from you for medical expenses.

Seeing the details of the Beach Bum pack I am less than impressed. Yes it's free, yes it's more content, but it's still more of the same.
I suppose R* are holding off on the big changes & heists until everything is stable and there will be no problems charging us for extra content then.

I hope that in the future they ad Michael's son as a contact and maybe the Epsilom program as a contact. Maybe the FiB, or even better the CIA (or whatever they are called here) as a contact?

I traded in GTA V today... Although I have kept my 360 despite now having an Xbox One, it's only really for Mass Effect and Halo.

Although I loved the Story mode, I'm not bothered about re-playing it.

As for the multiplayer... I did enjoy it, but I just don't have the time to dedicate to more than one multiplayer game, and at the moment that time is being sunk into BF4.

Let's face it. It's a disaster. They can point to all the online players all they want but the sales were down to the sheer excellence of Rockstars single player style games such as the GTA series and RDR. They got GTA online all wrong. The launch and content are both flops. They've hyped it up like it would be similar to SA:MP and it's not even close.

Void will be with me here I think in backing it to release on PC and allowing third party online development to allow a similar case to SA:MP. If this happens I think it will be sensational.

Servers for everyone's desire with the main mod being the life mod. Everyone starts with a set amount of cash. You have stats and skills and have a choice from hundreds of jobs. Examples range from taxi driver to Airline Pilot and Military. Skills help towards jobs. Examples being you need a set amount of flying skill to become a pilot and that would require lessons to receive skill level. Lessons cost money so you'd need a job, basic career progression. There's illegal jobs to reflect the nature of the game. 1000 people per server.

Until GTA IV I was a PC GTA'er, if it weren't for the Microsoft lies of 'exclusive DLC' I probably would be one of those patiently waiting for GTA V to come to PC.

But, I don't think I'll be rebuying GTA V on another format though, unless there's a silly steam deal where it's £3.00 :D

re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Game is riddled with modders now and horrid bugs. I've just received 100m in game from a random guy. Everyone else in the lobby received near or 100m too. He then set 1bn dollar bounties on random people. In an effort to avoid a ridiculous balance I quickly pulled the net in hopes of avoiding a save. I come back to a bad sport lobby with a timer of 9 months and increasing. I really can't put into words how bad Rockstar got the online portion of this game.

I think it's beyond saving now. I'm done with it.

Yeah, I've seen people on DS posting about the insane bounties and the huge gifts of money from random people.

Such a shame. It sound like such a great idea before it came out...

Yeah, I've heard about it but haven't encountered anything of the sort though.
It's surprisingly more on PS3 than Xbox though

Damn, why did I choose the wrong time to stop playing GTA V? Been playing old FIFA and Madden games for the last fortnight.

Did you find Rihanna in there ;)

I played this for the first time last night... on xbox! Being a PS fan or PS controller fan I hate the xbox controller so the experience was somewhat spoiled. I was expecting a little more in roaming mode. I do agree graphics, the detail put in is very good but i was expecting a little more, cars not the same as yours, indicators. I look forward to the next GTA on the new consoles which will no doubt have room for a more realistic touch.

It's not worth the hassle anymore, you go on and risk being bad sported for eternity for receiving a ridiculous payment you didn't ask for.

Well, it finally happened. I encounted a glitcher on Xbox.
I got back into free roam from a mission and almost immediately got 'gifted' around $80million.

No cheaters lobby or banhammer for me though ......yet. I'll be pretty mad if it happens.

There's quite a interesting thing that's been happening with GTA V: people have been using it to recreate scenes from films.

Here's the train fight scene from Skyfall:

And the truck chase scene from Terminator 2:

Just got this for Xbox One (I finally caved and got an XBone).
Is it normal for all the online achievements you earned on 360 to pop up one after the other when you transfered your online profiles to the XBone? :/

Re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Not on every game, no. GTA does it cause they wanted you to keep playing with your character rather than having to start again.

I just got this one X1 too couldn't wait any longer. secondhand copy for £32.

Completed on 360 but really wanted to play it again. Been trying to do it in first person but it feels so strange.

I recommend changing the controls for first person. Also if you're driving in first person I'd recommend putting on Alternative Handbrake.

Got a copy for the xBox One if anyone is interested in buying it, original case, map and instruction booklet, disc in excellent condition. Asking £30 for it with free postage, sold it last week but the idiot purchaser on eBay refused to pay and ignored all contact.

If interested, then shoot me a PM. Should mention payment would be through PayPal.

Re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Have it on PC now rather than console. It looks stunning with my current setup with everything maxed out. Moved my console character over flawlessly and had my multi million dollar garage awaiting. Done all heists, now setting up a team for a good 12 hour 10 million bonus challenge.

I'm excited for the future. Casino update next then hopefully we'll get Las Venturas and San Fierro I believe it was called (San Francisco)

Quite annoyed the max speed limit hasn't been increased though.

Has anybody had issues with GTA V crashing on PC, I believe its on effect Nvidia only?

Depends how often and what it entails. GTAV.exe has stopped responding? Window closed?

I never get anything like that but get a freeze pretty much every night, happens when transitioning if anything.

Did you update to the beta drivers Nvidia released to fix and improve GTA V specific issues? AMD also released one.

Re: GTA V (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Mine was a general question, as a guy at work has issues and its a known issue
