Too hot for me but I shouldn't complain as I have another week off work going places in the UK so hopefully I won't have to do any analysis of the weather every day to avoid any rain showers, but today is a day of rest at home, I've already clocked up over 800 miles driving in the last 6 days.

---------- Post added at 10:11 ---------- Previous post was at 10:06 ----------

The feel like temperature near Cambridge on Wednesday is said to be 39c!!! That's too hot for me in the UK especially when there is very little breeze.

I'm going to my cousin's funeral tomorrow, and all the weather apps give different temperatures, from 33c to 39c.

But I'm wearing suit trousers and a white shirt, and tie (its a Homer Simpson Father Christmas one) I always wore this tie on the 25th of June as it's 6 months to the festive season.

Reasons to be Cheerful:

* The tumble drier is now redundant
* It's too hot to mow the lawns
* Having an all through lounge creates a nice breeze with the windows open
* The dog doesn't have the energy to incessantly bark at the postman/delivery drivers/dustbin men
* I'm retired, therefore don't need to work in this weather

:D

We are constantly being told to insulate our homes to reduce energy use to heat them in the winter.

But now we are being told to remove any air conditioning we have if our homes get too hot during the summer.

"Just open a window".

35.9°C here yesterday, a record for Wales, and our bedroom was at 30°C all day and all night with the windows and door wide open.

Stephen 26-06-2026 07:56

I get that by placing a fan on my window ledge which draws the cool air in

It's hot in London. It was hot this morning in Crawley. I can confirm it's hot. No rain. Just sun.

The weather has been a bit cooler for me today and the house feels alot better, likely because I've been able to open the windows and get a blow going through the house. Last night I think was the worst night ever here.

More of the same forecast for next week when I'm back at work, atleast I'll be in a clean room with Aircon.
