As the time comes nearer they will probably let us know but I would love if they did keep the theme the same but who knows :(

The eye design changed every year, and the theme song also changed slightly

Wonder did channel 4 buy the rights to the theme when it bought the contract for bb or would Endemol own it?

I should imagine they licenced it to Channel4, so Endemol own the rights

On that note I really do hope they use it again as it wont be the same really without the bb music.

Going back to basics as well would be good and I want the bb that dished out the punishments when they broke the rules and no pretend romances for mag deals either. I hate when they do the storyline thing on the hightlights and your so fed up with seeing it that your ready to throw something at the tv

Re: [Update] Big Brother returns on Channel 5

It may be a good thing changing things up a bit instead of having the same concept year after year. Ratings were declining and thats why C4 dropped it.

If Channel 5 make a show of it and get the ratings in then C4 are going to regret something :)

The text at the bottom of the holding page says the site is copyright of Endemol UK, so I'd say it's odds-on that they are going to use it for the new series.

Re: Big Brother returns on Channel 5

Not sure if everyone has seen this, but looks like Emma Willis is still the fave to get the presenters job....

Quote:

Bookmakers are taking bets on who will become the presenter of Big Brother on Channel 5, with fan favourite Emma Willis leading the market.

Willis – who hosted spin-off Big Brother’s Little Brother during last summer’s final Channel 4 series, and was previously the face of the show’s official website – is the 6/5 frontrunner with PaddyPower.

Brian Dowling – who won Ultimate Big Brother last September – is second favourite at 7/4, while Myleene Klass and Jeff Brazier are in joint third, each with odds of 6/1.

Former presenter Davina McCall follows at 12/1, despite previously stating that she would not return to the show if it was to air on another channel.

Among the other names suggested by the company are Vernon Kay (20/1), Cheryl Cole, Dermot O’Leary and Fearne Cotton (each at 25/1), Konnie Huq, Holly Willougby and George Lamb (each at 33/1), Ben Shephard (40/1), Jedward (50/1) and Russell Brand (66/1).

There are also several more ex-housemates in the mix, including:
•Chantelle Houghton, Michelle Bass, Nick Bateman, Alex Reid – each at 16/1
•Chanelle Hayes, Nikki Grahame, Charley Uchea – each at 20/1
•Ulrika Jonsson – 40/1
•Josie Gibson, Nadia Almada, Alison Hammond – each at 50/1
•John McCririck – 100/1
From BBSPY , linkage HERE

---------- Post added at 09:26 ---------- Previous post was at 09:25 ----------

personally I'd like Brian Dowling... he's funny and I think would make a good presenter :)

The ones that would make me switch off would be.....

John McCririck & Charley Uchea

Quote:

“Normal” Big Brother Will Not Be Returning

We sincerely regret to inform long time (and potential new) fans of Big Brother that we at Channel 5
have decided to discard plans to reinvent the “Normal” version of Big Brother.

Instead we will be focusing and directing more of our attention onto the Celebrity version of the show.
This means that we will be able to invest more ideas, money, time and planning into Celebrity Big
Brother, which is still set to Launch in August this year.

We thank you for your ongoing support with the original plans we had for Big Brother, but we feel this
step is necessary for the future of Channel 5.

http://www.bigbrothersite.co.uk/2011...e-will-return/ Link here about it. Three things I would like if they kept are:

(1) The eye
(2) The music as it wont be the same without it
(3) Marcus Bently doing the voice over

but if we get even just the eye I will be happy. Just the fact bb is coming back I'm happy :D:D:D:D

Shoe Horn Online

Quote:

Also having her shoes filled this year is original Big Brother presenter, Davina McCall, whose role is to be taken over by former Big Brother’s Little Brother presenter and Aston Villa supporter, Emma Willis.

In an interview with OK!, Emma talks about the pressure she feels taking over from national treasure, Davina, as well as her excitement at the show’s speedy return to our screens:

“I don’t think any of us expected the show to disappear, but it seems as if the nation’s spoken and they want it back already! We’ve only had 9 months to catch our breath, but I think Big Brother will find the perfect home at Channel 5.”

Well they have said previously that they are 'bringing the 24hr live feed back' so I assume that it will be online and maybe on 5* or something

Endemol has hired Gavin Henderson – who launched Deal Or No Deal in the UK – as creative director for the Big Brother revival, Broadcast reports.

According to the industry source, Henderson will replace Phil Edgar-Jones in the role on both the celebrity and normal series, which air on Channel 5 in August and September respectively.

Auditions opened in Manchester yesterday http://tellymix.co.uk/2011/reality-t...brilliant.html

Quote:

Unfortunately for those Big Brother fans hoping for something different from the new series, don’t get your hopes up. First in line at yesterday’s auditions was “lad’s mag favourite” Lucy Harold. The 22-year-old who has 32DD boobs (because that’s apparently important) said: “I just want to show people that I am so much more than a pretty face.”
How cliché.

Plus you probably have to have a background with an interesting story to tell or have some sort of celeb connections in 1 way or another. As lets face it when was there ever a house full of "normal" housemates who had not already been on tv, a background to make you look "interesting" to, well known relatives or dated a celeb, a failed singer, a porn star etc at some point.

I'm all for the celeb version by the way, just go back to basics and have normal members of the public on the regular version this time

The Irish X Factor twins - John and Edward Grimes, 19 - will get £500,000 each for the Channel 5 celebrity version that kicks off in August.

A source said: "The lads can't believe their luck - a cool half a million each."

This better not be true as I cant see myself watching them if they go into the house.:mad::mad:

The only entertaining thing we'll see from them being in the house, is if another celebrity punches their heads in and flattens their quiffs  :D

just hope the security don't dawdle too much at the time.

No live feed!!!!!!

Big Brother on Channel 5 will not have a 24-hour live feed, according to digital director James Tatam.

Channel 5 and producer Endemol are instead working closely with mobile agency Mobile Interactive Group on a Facebook app that will have real-time news, extra video content and the ability to vote out housemates online.

Fans will be able to eliminate contestants using Facebook Credits, according to New Media Age.

Tatam apparently confirmed in the interview that plans for a 24-hour live feed have been shelved in place of a stream of video highlights on the Facebook page.

They should have just left it buried last year. I'm not even on Facebook and have no intention of joining just for that. It looks like they are aiming at the teenage group. I mean all ages watch it

Re: Big Brother returns on Channel 5

I've never subscribed to any live feed. only an early series when live streams were 'hacked' and given out for all to use.

but I know that the live feed is one of, if not 'the' biggest thing about Big Brother.
