Best goal celebration ever.

RVN misses a penalty against Andorra. One of the Andorra players makes fun of him (@ 10 seconds). Watch RVN take revenge as he scores 10 minutes later. :D

I loved the build up video with Lineker and Shearer. Brilliant.

Not sure about introducing a completely new formation for our most crucical game in years.

Squeaky bum time.

It should have been more comfortable than it was, BUT, I am not complaining.

The only worrying thing was the tiredness of some players at the end.

Yes it is...

Quote:

Fabio Capello can breathe easily in this instance too as England book their place in the last 16. England and USA would finish level on five points and goal difference would determine who progresses as Group C winners. If goal difference remains level, as is the case at the moment, goals scored (currently England 1, USA 3) would decide who finishes top.

Well played England but come on! This team where poor to say the least, they should have had no trouble sticking at least 3 past them. This may have put a sticking plaster over the wound but it will soon fall off.
As soon as they come up against any half decent opposition (probably next game) they will be lose unless they play with more composure. Still to many basic errors and not enough skill/ability to keep the ball.

At least they won though...............just! :)

p.s. Thought Milner had a great game but he looked cream crackered half way through the second half. It`s probably put another couple of million on his price tag

Matty, England won and they was playing with alot more composure and with the spirts been high they can only improve now, Gerrard has now been given a more free role and Defoe is on form, not sure what to do about Rooney, but Joe Cole was little shining star.

Would it be a good world cup for us if we had the likes of South Korea, Ghana or USA at this stage. So to get Germany the build up now will make it more the better no matter what. Ok Argentina is scary thought.

I'm hopeful based on what I saw last night against Ghana that England does have a good chance.

Re: FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa

Lots of jokes about atm (have cleaned some of them up for this forum

Whats the difference between Cinderella and the England football team?
Cinderella wanted to get to the ball....

Osama bin Laden has just released a new TV message to prove he is still
alive. He said that the England Team performance on Saturday was completely
rubbish. British intelligence have dismissed the claim, stating that the message
could have been recorded anytime in the last 44 years.

Robert Green - The only man to leave Africa with out catching anything .

I can't believe we only managed a draw against a crap team we should easily
have beaten......I'm ashamed to call myself Algerian.

The England team went to visit an orphanage in South Africa this morning,
"its so good to put a smile on the faces of people with no hope, constantly
struggling, and facing the impossible" said Jamal Omboto, aged 6.

Fifa have released a statement saying the fan didn't break into the
dressing room after all, but was let in by Rob Green.

What's the difference between Rob Green's spill and BP's spill?
- Robert Green has got a cap for his.

Fabio Capello was wheeling his shopping trolley across the supermarket car
park when he noticed an old lady struggling with her bags of shopping. He
stopped and asked, "Can you manage dear?" To which the old lady replied,
"No way. You got yourself into this total mess, don't ask me to sort it
out..."

The FA have launched an inquiry to find out how a fan found his way into
the dressing room. And another enquiry into how Aaron Lennon found his way
into the dressing room.

It's not that America ignores the sport, its that just it's considered effeminate. Fathers in the UK dread the day their son says they want to be a ballet dancer, and fathers in the US dread the day their son says they want to be a soccer player. Soccer is big over there but primarily by women and small children.

---------- Post added at 20:37 ---------- Previous post was at 20:29 ----------

Also worth bearing in mind regarding World Cup 1994 in the US
Quote:

Average attendance was nearly 69,000, which broke records that had stood since 1950, due to the bigger capacities of the American stadiums compared to those of Europe and Latin America. The total attendance for the final tournament of nearly 3.6 million remains the highest in World Cup history, despite the expansion of the competition from 24 to 32 teams (and from 52 to 64 matches) in 1998.

Funny how they find football 'effeminate' yet they tend to consider rugby players a bit mad because they think it's the same as their 'football' without all the padding :D

Well done Ghana.

Good to see an African team progressing. I think they'll struggle against Uruguay though.

Too close to call. I hope England win it, but I'm not expecting a goalfest. 1-0 or 2-1. I'm not sure which way.

Arrogant' English anger world's media

The world's media have been left stunned after England's news briefing for the World Cup clash with Germany lasted barely five minutes and featured only questions taken from British television reporters.

Germany 4 - 1 England

Rooney will score first and the whole country will get big headed and cocky then James will get sent off then Green will go in goals - and we know what happens when Green is in goals.

We won't score.

Germany 3 - 0 England

Germany will get an early-ish goal (~20 mins) and the game will go abck and forth for a while. Then Germany will get two more between 70-90 mins in.

FIFA has finally acknowledged that there may be something wrong with the Jabulani World Cup ball, but won't act on the problem until after the tournament.

The only thing that's peeing me off more than England's performance over all 4 games is Blatter's insistance that referee's egos are more important than enforcing the rules and having just games.
