Arsenal's incredible finances.

http://swissramble.blogspot.co.uk/20...sensation.html

Scrolling through I'm once again disheartened to see Newcastle consistently coming in or the club behind the usual top 5 in England.

Ah well, Rafalution and all. :)

I know that l am a proud Spurs fan of over 40 years. BUT, Arsenal seem scared to spend money on decent players.

It seems to me that Wenger doesn't want to bring in BIG name players. They used to be a powerful side.

I know that the big trouble between Spurs and Arsenal over the years s been very money from the late 50s and 60s.#

Its about time Wenger realises that he is just a MANAGER, and can be sacked tomorrow. But Arsenal fans wants trophies and big honours EACH year. And they should get this. But with Wenger they wont get this

Look at it this way. Arsenal were ranting last season about Wenger had to spend money int he close season.

What did the papers say - anyone would think ITS HIS MONEY.

In this day and age of TV money, and how much for the football fan pays to see there favourite clubs. I think its right that fans have a moan.

For example if l went to see Spurs play, it would cost in the region of £300 quid if l took my son.

I have complained many times at the cost of INSIDE the ground prices. Its about time the fans had there say in what had now become a MONEY GAME

Blame it all on Rooney.

What was achieved by dropping him? Aside from a truly shocking performance.

The media bandwagon hopping and plaudits for dropping him are getting tiring. Singling out one player for a Rubbish team.

Re: Football Season 2016/2017

Don't think they will this season. I don't see a consistent game winning team. Zlatan and Martial are the best outlets for goals, then you've got Rashford coming but he's really on Martial level? That's a disaster on it's own imo. Pogba is going through the De Bruyne phase, it's not easy to translate form from one league to the other. He should get there eventually though. Then I also feel the defence is lacking, the days of Vidic or Ferdinand are gone and there's no like for like replacement. To top it all off, they seem to be set up really defensively.

Not the same United I remember. It's like watching Chelsea vs Palace or another mid table team, they're under no pressure and just cruising the ball around.

edit: 2-0, I don't see much of a way back either. Game is done if it's anything like Liverpool away. Ball is being swung in and Zlatan is barely even stood in the final third never mind the box.

They'll be lucky just to get to the 45 just two down. Shocking performance, that defence is atrocious to the standard of Man United :erm:

Chelsea look happy to sit off at 2-0, hate it when teams do that. Mine has a habit of it. United could get back in it like this.

Brilliant by Hazard, 3-0, United's defence just stood off him originally.

4-0, defence destroyed. Hopeless.

Not a good day at the office for sure. 7 changes on Thursday, 6 today does not help continuity. Why a top class defender like Fosu Mensah doesn't even get on the bench ahead of Rojo is beyond me.

Neither Blind or Rojo is a fullback or a central defender TBH. I have always said that Fellaini should get nowhere near a United shirt unless he is in opposition. I was secretly hoping that disgusting, filthy tackle from Luiz had done real damage, could have been a straight red as well.

A decent spell of play before Hazards goal but only half chances really.

Still it's only a game and has already been consigned to history for me. 😉

Newcastle tickets tomorrow night were a tenner and three quid respectively, Newcastle have moved 44,000 tickets for a League cup game on a Tuesday night against Preston. The Rafa effect. Some clubs should take note on the pricing though, people will stay say what they want about Mike Ashley but £23 quid for a family of three is amazing value. Not sure if there's been a happier Championship club this optimistic for the future... then again we're top :erm:

Note: Newcastle also priced the tickets at £10 and £3 for Preston fans in the interest of fairness. This also applied to Wolves fans last game round.

Newcastle in cruise control against 10 man Preston, last eight all but confirmed. Final Attendance is 49,000

3-0, 4-0

Done, rout incoming.

6-0. Preston had one shot on goal and 34% possession. It was lopsided. Two ridiculously strong elevens Newcastle can put out at Championship level, is almost unfair.

The big bonus for Newcastle now apart from their huge crowds and strong squad is they finally have a decent manager at the helm so lets hope Mr Ashley ties him to a contract for the next 5 years.

Only just got back home from Old Trafford, the crowd was massive and no one left early, I have never seen the streets outside so packed with people leaving the ground.

A well deserved win given the makeshift centre back pairing and a rather poor first half.

Both Pogba and Zlatan could have been pulled at half time. To their credit both they and United upped their game against a toothless, aimless City team.

At the current rate, Sunderland will have roughly 7 points at the end of the season.

Mitrovic scores twice to put Newcastle two up at Preston.

10 goals conceded all season including cups. 1 goal in the last 6.

Edit: Make that two now. Awful stuff from the Preston fans, throwing objects at Newcastle players allowing 6 minutes of added time that continued to 9.

It's always the away fans that chant that. I missed the Burnley game, my daughter is the lead singer in a pub rock band band, they had a Halloween gig in the Lake District. Went up early Saturday afternoon so only heard bits of the game on the radio.

Looks like I picked a good one to miss, couldn't believe the stats, 72% possession, 37 goal attempts.

At least they are at the lower table, just remind me what European table Liverpool are dining at this season. :p:
