Do you want me to be outraged that she resigned? That’s not really appropriate tbh.

l am certainly not outraged but disappointed like many are that those in positions higher up have a duty to lead by example and obey the lockdown rules like the rest of us.

No i don't expect standards just carry on as normal.

It took a few weeks but after she was caught out she jumped before she was pushed, had she not been exposed i guess she would have just carried on regardless.

My standards are carrying on as normal.

Are you now saying Dom should give resigned, or that she shouldn’t have? It’s certainly an inconsistency that some have to reconcile but not me.

1 Re your standards,i can confirm they are at the usual level.
2 She is a sitting MP who only resigned as a last resort after she was exposed, she didn't own up until the story hit the papers.
3 Dom is just an adviser not a member of the gov or any political party,he's had a bollocking as is the norm when an employee steps out of line.

Evidence, please, of his employer bollocking him?

A senior Downing Street source told the Mail on Sunday: “Dom’s been firmly put in his place.”

They are separated. He wasn't there. So absolutely nothing to do with him.

Nice try though.

Fair point.

'A Downing St source' that is probably Cummings himself :D

But the "senior Downing Street source" is Dom :) Two personalities in one!

Just watched the Lords of the Rings: The Two Towers and Gollum reminded me of someone:

“Master carries heavy burden … Sméagol knows … Heavy, heavy burden. Fat one cannot know. Sméagol look after Master.”

I love the way people think that nobody broke lockdown rules. I bet loads did.

However, this is just another example of people who should know better. It's good that she jumped but part of me wishes she hadn't as it would have been good to see if Kier would have been good to his word and sacked her as a whip.

Of course He would have, she’s expendable.

The rest of the country did no such thing.

Plenty of people did, but to claim that “the country” did, with the exception of a very few famous/important people, is blatant nonsense, as the news photos almost every day of the week for the past two months have shown.

I’m lucky enough to live in a beauty spot, and flagrant disregard of the continuing lockdown rules in Scotland forced the police to start closing roads yesterday to prevent the area getting overcrowded.

Straw man alert. Nobody sincerely believes there’s 100% adherence to lockdown rules. It’s self evidently ridiculous to claim there is.

What is important is the double standards for people in leadership to tell the masses to do one thing while flouting their rules themselves.

l think you know exactly what l meant as no one is claiming that there was a 100% compliance with the lockdown rules as of course not everybody abided by the lockdown rules..

Indeed, but we are permitted to get pissed off from time to time about it in a healthy democracy. :D

However you would expect those that made the rules, those 'in charge', to set an example and follow them religiously.Which they haven't - Jenrick, Cummings...

Lockdown's certainly finished around here and not being enforced. Grand kids staying with grandparents overnight etc. People now feel they have carte blanche as a result of Cummings. Lets hope in a few weeks time we aren't back at square one.
