Sorry if this has already been answered, but this thread is a bit too big now to search!

I'm on 100Mb at the moment and just ordered the speed boost.

The email I got says I'll get Vivid 150, why not 200? MyVirginmedia states that I'm on the top broadband package.

100Mb isn't the top tier. 152Mb is.

50, 100 and 152 become 70, 150 and 200.

Then why can't I upgrade to it?

You are misreading things somewhat. If your account says you are on 100Mb and that is what you are getting then the free upgrade takes you to 150Mb. Its not clear from your attachments how the two pictures fit together, but if you want 200Mb you will have to pay for it.

Misreading? How?

In MyVirginMedia I go to my packages, I am then told I'm on Vivid 100(1st screenshot), I should be able to upgrade to 152(Vivid 200)from there, on pressing the upgrade button to do just that I get told I'm on the highest tier already(2nd screenshot).

Edit: Just to clarify, I'm fine with going from 100 to 150 via the speed increase, but a bit confused why within MyVirginMedia I can't upgrade to the top tier because I'm apparently already on it.

I see what you mean I hope. Originally there was 50 100 and 152 and now there is 70 100 and 200 but original customers on 100 before it became vivid were allowed to upgrade free to 150. (someone will put me right if I'm wrong) It looks as if VM consider you are on Vivid 100 as opposed to the old 100 so you have to pay to upgrade. A phone call to retentions might be the best course of action, however make sure you're polite.

I was under the impression the 3 new tiers will be 70, 150 and 200 and it was the 200 tier that is currently a free upgrade but the other 2 will follow suit.

If i go to their webpage the 3 tiers are listed as 50, 100 and 200.

that is because they are doing the 200s first and working backwards to the 70 and 100s. Although I have seen a few posts over the last couple of days where people have upgraded to 70mbits, up and till now the configs haven't existed for 70 and 100 which is why 50 couldn't upgrade to 70 and 100 couldn't upgrade to 150.

Yes that is what i thought, but the post above mine was i thought implying that customers on 100mbit won't get a free upgrade to 150mbit, but i may have read it wrong.

they will, they are just doing the 152 to 200s first. Making 200 available asap must be a priority in the willy waving contest. Last time round we were left till last and the 30 to 50s were done first.

Re: Virgin Media 70, 150 & 200 Mb Upgrades

Since my speed change from 50>70 Mb/s, downloads have gone from 6.5MB/s to 8.8MB/s (best), so unless it's a massive download, not a noticeable difference.
