Re: Who Is Getting Fit This Year?
So while Mrs Russ was off doing Mrs Russ stuff I quickly grabbed her bathroom scales and whether it’s the extra cardio, the Ozempic or a mixture of both I’ve now dropped around 9lb since the start of May. Optimistically-speaking it may even be a stone given how the readings can change through the day but I’ve averaged it out as 9lb. Gut has certainly reduced and all my belts need at least one new hole.
The loss has been my gut as none of my lifts have decreased which is what initially worried my and that V shape I’ve been after for so long is finally there. And yep Mrs Russ is happy with it too ;) I’m not going to say the ‘zempic is good (or affordable) for everyone but all I can say is it’s done the trick for me. I should still be feeling the effects (reduced appetite) for another week or two and the aim then is to keep it off. Hopeful the cardio increases will help there too. |
Re: Who Is Getting Fit This Year?
Weigh yourself at the same time of day, then you can control out any fluctuations. Preferably naked, first thing in the morning, after you’ve taken a dump. :D

Re: Who Is Getting Fit This Year?
Even then you have no control over food in transit or water retention inflammation and so on . I weigh Thursday afternoons not ideal but I always drink first thing and eat the same food Wednesday and Thursday mornings and always take an anti inflammatory on Wednesday but even then there are variables so only really take on board month to month. Although now I am at target its not so crucial

Problem with the same time of day is that it’s not an accurate representation of my weight. This is why I’ve always done it 4/5 times a day and worked out the average. To be honest since I started lifting I’ve not paid much attention to the scales, instead I’ve always gone on increases in lifts, how often I’ve been able to throw an extra pair of 2.5kgs on the bar etc. In this instance I’ve focussed on body shape and inches off my waist (was 38 inch, now finding 36 starting to feel slack in most jeans). Scales have just been for my ego :D |
Re: Who Is Getting Fit This Year?
Do you have scars from the jabs Russ?
I have an annual checkup next month. I think I might ask of Ozempic. I have zero energy. I had referrals to Crawley wellbeing where I just couldn't keep up with the classes but I was 10kg lighter than I am now with weight loss progress. I was offered a personal trainer after a wellbeing introduction. :( Quote:

Re: Who Is Getting Fit This Year?
So I’ve upped my Ozempic dosage from 10 clicks to 51 (I was previously using a very dose) and for the first 24 hours I couldn’t keep off the toilet, it was non-stop. I swear I’d have lost a stone just from that.
Since then I just get through protein cornflakes for breakfast, 4 water protein shakes and a single chicken filet in the evening and my gut has virtually disappeared, in total I’ve dropped just over a stone and a half since the start of May whilst retaining the muscle which I’m dn happy about. V shape is there and my cardio is doing really well. Happy (and more cut) Russ. |
Re: Who Is Getting Fit This Year?
I have to change things. I can not wear myself out cycling any more without going stupid distances and spending stupid hours and burning stupid calories I can not eat enough to keep up with. My cardio fitness is better than I ever expected it to get at my age to be honest. Do not like running so it wont be that and not a strong swimmer so feck knows

I've started protein shakes for breakfast and lunch, brunch then dinner with loads of veg. If I get hungry in between I have fruit. It seems to be working as oppose to heavy meals 3 times a day then burning it off. The shake feels like it's cheating the body into thinking you've had a full meal. Allmax Isoflex Dymatize iso 100 Allmax Casin I use isoflex and casin together chocolate flavour, 2 servings 1 and half scoops of Isoflex and half scoop casin as a thickener. Dymatize iso 100 mixes really well but I got cookies and cream which is sickly sweet. I still only ride my bike up the road and back. Still not confident riding long distance or acute turns. |
Re: Who Is Getting Fit This Year?
Don’t forget creatine (I prefer the gummies) to maximise strength improvement in your legs.
