Would that be the thicker heavier iPad3 with the worse battery life and poor quality upscaling of pre-rendered text onto it's retina display that comes complete with dodgy wifi connection and a 4G system that won't work in the UK even when we get LTE off the ground? :D

A couple of capacitors in the power supply were bulging and low in value (~230uF vs marked value of 1000uF). You had to keep booting it to eventually get the backlight(s) to stay on. Didn't have exacly the right values (Actually used 680uF) but the replacements are premium types and seem OK.

30 mins work, mostly working out how to get it apart, to save the cost of a replacement. Result!

Thats excellent news heero.:tu:

My first car was an MG Metro Turbo which is what I think was replaced by the Gti. Only 4 gears with a top speed of 93mph but oh hell it was fast getting there, I often beat motorbikes from traffic lights and I once beat an RS Turbo and Golf Gti 16v from a standing start to 50 mph :D

45 mins!!!!! Boy are you good, :D. I start giggling after a few minutes and give the game away. My best windup is to put John on the phone. A total technophobe and deaf he really winds them up by just trying to be helpful. They usually give up after 10/15 minutes. :D

I am still having happy thoughts from our holiday, Just came back on Thursday, everything went very well in Nashville. We saw the great Merle Haggard in concert & also sat in on a interview with him & his band. Also saw Gene Watson, Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, Vince Gill and many more great country singers. The weather was really warm & the hotel was brilliant. The music in the barson Broadway started from 11:30 am till 2 in the morning with a change of band every 4 hours. Really enjoyed every minute of this holiday. Now we need a rest.

That looks like a very useful idea. Are you one of the volunteer trialists or are the Talking Labels now available in all Pharmacies. I have a friend who is bind and watching her with her meds sometimes worries me, I know she has a braille notation on the labels but in the winter her fingertips get cracked and she has problems reading.

I am one of the triallists :)

The problem I also had with braille on the boxes was the pharmacy kept putting labels over the braille....

Your friend should call RNIB and they can organise with boots to get on the trial.

Cheers dilli. I will tell her about the labels and see what she wants to do. She has her prescriptions delivered from a local pharmacy but I would be more than happy to drive her to the nearest Boots if necessary. Shame more pharmacies don't seem to have the same option.

Just been on a good night out in Athens - strongly recommend the A for Athens Cocktail bar (great view of the Parthenon), Kuzina for good food and wine, taf (the art foundation) if you are in the mood to listen to jazz and mix with hipsters, Vrettos, Gin Joint, then two bars a couple of blocks from the hotel whose name I can't remember (the bars, not the hotel...).

Time for bed - it's just before 2am here, and I need to be up at 6:30am....

Must admit to thinking that this holiday had come at just the right time for you Tinky. As for me I am OK, still battling on and each day is sweet.

Come back safely and we will all be looking forward to seeing a few of your holiday photographs. Don't forget the lens cover if you overdo the Vimto. :D

Thank you Daddy. The frequency of the flights I have had to make over the past 4 years (funerals) has made my phobia dwindle to almost nil Daddy to the extent that I did not use any tablets on the last flight. Having said that, I have only been able to tolerate them because I have been lucky to be able to book seats almost at the front. This flight we are in row 2 aisle seats both ways, I'm a happy bunny! See you in two weeks time. Take care all! xxxxxxxxxx

You are such a complex character. Spiritual, worldly and easily satisfied. Oh and you move people to tears.... but then we all know what a great guy you are. :)
