Yep that is typical of the BBC's treatment of some sports MM.

Better behind the red button than behind a pay wall.

With any luck they will decide to bring back the HD red button for this, like they had for Wimbledon.

Agreed if it is HD however I'd disagree if it's only available in SD behind the red button. The SD red button streams are always poor quality.

What would you prefer they did?

The BBC where already committed to showing the World Athletics Championships on BBC One and BBC Two during the period the PGA Championship takes place.

Is it a fail by the PGA for selling their rights to the BBC knowing it could only go on red button? I can't see that the BBC have done anything wrong. They're broadcasting the golf on the platform they have available on those dates.

Sorry if I didn't make it clear however I agree my gripe was with the PGA and not the BBC.

And your point is ?

It's still 9 times out of 10 in fuzzy vision SD.

Nothing wrong with that in my book, as long as it's in HD. They should also consider putting it on as a live feed on the i-player.

Personally they should have a separate channel for all their sports content all in HD of course.

I don't know what will happen maybe the BBC will offer an HD feed on BBC Iplayer.;)

Anyway the SD Channel look the same on Virgin Media as an HD Channel - in my own view (Even with an HD Telly.)

But there's a clash with athletics. Red button seems the least worst option to me.

Well each to their own opinion but l find the red button inconsistent and generally lacking in good PQ generally.

Why can't they put it on BBC4? And broadcast 24hours or as long as they need to whilst the golf is on?
