Why when you see this does it say the SD/HD channel numbers and then for Sky 1/HD it just says 122? It may just be me?

Over to the Sky users on this thread :naughty:

Why?

In regard to the number I would assume it's just a typo that missed out 121 for Sky 1 SD

Not yet, but I'm pretty sure it's a mistake on the page - the 'free with Premiere or VIP Collections' should be next to the £6.50 fee and explain that it's for one box only

Ben,does no one proof read the Virgin Media website?,it seems to be all to common for "typo's" to appear, customers or potential customers want clear, accurate and up to date information before buying a service, and if even yourself, a Virgin Media employee is having trouble understanding things then what chance have we the customers got?

Yes indeed they are out there and the master with his dastardly dark side seems hell bent in sending forth his obedient servants to do his dirty work but alas the forces of good will always send them back with their tail between their legs and with them licking their wounds.:D;)

But at the moment, with Sky Go and other innovations and Fibre BB, Sky do seem to be catching up and sometimes leading the way - VM can't rest on its TiVo laurels for much longer...

And l don't think they will rest on their laurels and one suspects as the year goes on they will have a few tricks up their sleeve to combat the increased competition.

What happens with ESPN in the summer could be pivotal for sports fans with XL and VIP. I got my Dad over from SKY to Virgin when Setanta was added to XL. I know he'll expect BT Sports to replace ESPN should it fold.

I've said it before however that ESPN dropping out of XL and VIP could be a good thing. It would free up plenty of funds for Virgin to secure more HD and SD channels. Virgin could also invest in more on demand content and TiVo apps. For non-sports fans, this would be fantastic.

Sadly we live in a world where the TV producers believe that the only sport is football and this must be available as often as possible. Therefore VM will spend what it needs to get BT sports so as many people can watch the diving, play acting and goal hanging abilities that make UK football what it is today. (Can you tell I'm not a fan :-) )

Well, HP, sadly that's where the money is. That being the case, we non-football fans have to put up with it.

That's the thing, not everyone is a sports fan. Are you a XL or VIP customer? If so would you like to have the option of opting out of having ESPN and HD included in your packge if it meant saving roughly £16 per month? Personally I always valued having access to ESPN at no extra cost.
