Lol yeah im just saying. they are not really giving us much new. when i spoke to VM the other day i was told they are not really pushing sky atlantic that hard because its something like the 38 most popular channel, I wonder what the viewing figures are for a channel like GINX then lol

I watch Ginx quite a bit. There is some pretty good content on there for gamers of all types (except maybe the pro's)
The only problem with it is that much of it is repeated over and over again to such an extent that it becomes an annoyance. They are still running reviews of presentations made at E3. That was months ago.

I really do not care about not knowing before launch - I am just happy to see them launching.

Virgin Media will remove all the ESPN Channels by Friday - unless an deal can be signed with BT then ESPN and ESPN HD will stay on.

No new updates from my insiders since Thursday,

Good News: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 3.2 will launch on my real birthday - tomorrow.

Interesting so how many of us will be checking the channel guide throughout Friday? If ESPN is still there but no VM press release do we assume good news is on it's way? At least it points to some kind of resolution, either way, being aimed for this week.

I doubt you'll get anything from your insiders about BT sport MB and it'll only launch randomly and without warning if at all.

I think BT sport is much too big a thing for anyone to leak because of the uproar and controversy surrounding it that no one would risk leaking anything about it. Also i think the only people in the know will be very high up directors who know what is going on with the negotiations.

The higher ups will be happy to tell staff about channel launchs of GINX and +1 channels because if something goes wrong there wont be much uproar. We'll always get leaked this type of information.

But for something so big as BT sport i dont think we'll ever hear anything until it launches. Far too confidential.

I think it safe to say that Channel 4 +1 HD will not be launching after all.

Looking on the Ofcom more I think they are moving from two licences to one licence for that Broadcaster.

I mean that new licence for Channel 4 will be for the following channels:

-Channel 4
-Channel 4 +1
-Channel 4 HD.

That comment seems a little unfair on braysoj1, ocav. MB posted news of Channel's 4 and 5 gaining licences and he only mentioned the freeview platform too. MB's post number is #4716, and the info was found by braysoj1!!!

I was pleased to hear the freeview news, it's the only good news we have received recently:)

If BT Sport was added as a standalone subscription channel on VM the amounts they would make from this would literally be a drop in the ocean for BT , this is all about attracting people to a BT landline and broadband.

You have to be careful with BT, they have a habit with many products of auto renewal of contracts so if you dont cancel in month 11 your stuck with them till month 24!

Yes, well aware.

I always note when I get a service, and when I need to cancel.

My understanding is it'll only remain free if you re-contract and commit yourself to a further 12 months.

I don't know if it's illegal or not. I only had a quick look as I'm not that bothered about watching BT Sports. There are some contact details, including live chat, so anyone interested might want to contact them to ascertain the legality of the service if this is a concern to them.

BT say that they "have no plans" to charge for BT Sport after the first year, but that the free HD offer is only for 12 months, so a £3 charge will become payable for this.

All of BT's promo material before August 1st stated that BT Broadband Customers get BT Sport free for a year, that to me makes it sound like they are charging after 12 months. They will need to though. Even BT can't survive off 23,000 paying subscribers

In the meantime, what do people think of this for accessing BT Sports etc?

www.pubfootballbox.com

It is illegal but it's more likely to get you into trouble if you are a pub showing it than at home from what I gather from this, take a look at the link

Still no reply from the CEO team. Would it be worth emailing them again to see if they got my last email or is it likely to be in a queue?

I've not yet had a reply - although my mail wasn't asking them to do anything specific, I was just criticizing them for failing to deliver what customers wanted in relation to BT Sport and Sky Atlantic.

They replied once asking for my account number, which I supplied them.

I've not had a reply either apart from a missed call on Friday night. I complained about the lack of updates and the patronizing message about getting my fix from Eurosport.

I explained that better to pay a little for channels rather than not have them, mentioned Premier Sports too. Explained that as a rugby and MLB follower I have no choice but to leave but will give them 10 days. I gave them a few options,

Cover cost of me getting a BT broadband line while they sort this out and I'll keep my VM account and they don't lose me.

Offer me a job and I'll work on VM's strategy and get more content.

as well as a few other options

Tongue in cheek but often a good way of standing out and getting a reply.

I've done the same in the past, told them to offer me a job - their IT Operations/Network Operations are a shambles, they have no problem management function, no capacity management function and an incident management function that isn't fit for purpose.

I've been in IT Operations for nearly 20 years, I just want to get in there and shake the **** out of those functions and clear the decks of all the useless people who are just picking up their pay cheques.

Yes one suspects they are absolutely overwhelmed but if you take something away and then fail to replace it at that moment then they cannot be surprised with the amount of emails they have received henceforth from that moment.
