Definitely worth it even if he doesn't has a use for it right away £25 is far better than £50! haha

If he has a 4K telly that doesn't support HLG iplayer and doesn't want to use the V6(if he has 1) then this will do the trick, not tried it yet.

Also you can sideload apps so it isn't limited like a smart TV, also games emulation, not tried that yet either.

btw the discount is applied when you get to the payment method, so don't get pissed off like i did!

Is it really worth £600 the reviews are not great for it across Amazon UK & Com, they're often slagging off the issues with the panel?

I had a chat with Nectar and you can spend your points in Argos Store but you do not receive points if you just go in the store to purchase anything, You must purchase through Nectar website, But they were very helpful and rewarded my points this time . Really Happy Now .

Just had to buy a standalone Fridge Freezer as the one that broke last Sunday wasn't able to get repaired yesterday and it was only 2.5yrs old! Hotpoint are refunding the £120 service charge luckily.

I am limited in space for the depth so couldn't get anything with a better make but avoided Hotpoint this time.

I had to buy a new small chest freezer recently and went for LEC as a brand. They had a good name but I think it's still made in China. It wasn't the cheapest offering at ao. So far so good.

Just a heads up guys I use Boots Appliances which is provided by AO, this time this freezer was cheaper through Boots, also got 3.05% Topcashback if it tracks.

edit

It's tracked at £8.45 + another £2.50 as topcashback have an offer on this weekend so that is a £11 saving for doing nothing for everyone that hasnt tried topcaskback yet.....try it!

It really annoys me that we can't get the snapdragon version of an S10 here as that is far superior in performance as well as a far better camera! This will actually make me look at other phones when the time comes to upgrade my S7.

A new stainless sink with drainer and a single lever mixer tap. Part of a minor re-organisation of the kitchen to accept the dishwasher from the lean-to utility room as it's going to be replaced by a conservatory.

Part of those works will also include a 3 section bi-fold door.

heero_yuy 01-09-2019 15:14

Re: What have you just bought?

2 x 15mm ball valve isolators for the mixer tap. Means that I don't have to drain the entire system if the tap needs maintenance. Good practice in any modern system. If you're renewing taps/mixers do this.

My PC failed just before going on holiday, local fixer replaced graphics card and after some playing in Linux it's all working OK.

My GTX260 is now a GT1030 which he says should be much faster so I hope to play some of the newer Lego games recommending a 750. Around £70 for the card and £60 for his time and expertise.

I was given a nice cast iron "non-stick" pan and removing the label too off some of the coating. Our best pan is a black cast iron pan, well seasoned that like the wok is never "washed". A rinse and maybe a little brushing does fine, then dry on the wok-burner on the hob, maybe reseason the wok.

Flights for our holiday next March - me, SWMBO, and another couple are going on a Florida road trip.

We're flying Leeds to Dublin, then Dublin to Miami - on the way back it will be Orlando to Dublin, then Dublin to Leeds; that way, we do the Homeland Security checks in Dublin, and the Dublin to Miami flight is treated as an internal flight, so we get out of the airport quickly (for comparison, last time we all flew to Boston from the UK, it took nearly 3 hours from landing to getting out of the airport, whilst when we went to San Francisco via Dublin, it took around 40 minutes - definitely worth doing, imho...).

Trip (rough) itinerary attached.

Yea it is SnoopZ but for for some reason the previous owner or maybe someone viewing the car at the garage has decided to take it.

I think it will benefit having a sat nav that is up to date and as it was built in I just thought what the heck as we were going to
buy him a dashcam but he beat us to it.

Not complaining this worked out cheaper.

Re: What have you just bought?

Our built-in oven is about 35 years old but it's on it's fourth or fifth element as it gets a lot of use. This is the part that commonly fails but is relatively cheap (~£17) and easy to replace: About 15 minutes work with a Philips screwdriver.

Though it seems that the newer elements don't last like the original, I guess they're being made down to a price as well.

Our oven lasted about 12 years before it went so l we bought the same oven again just that it was more a modernised version of it.

2 packs of sugar from Poundland (1.65kg for 50p, an odd size) 65p/kg in most shops, but only 30p/kg in Poundland.

Just found a recall from last year when "small particles of metal" could be in them. But not the batch numbers they are selling now.

A bit of iron in your diet is no bad thing,i haven't taken sugar for the past 25 years but good find:tu:

When the element goes in ours it's pyrotechnics time: Bright yellow glow, then frying sound and finally blue flashes. Then the fuse goes. It plugs into a standard 13A outlet.

If your electrics include an RCD (Earth leakage breaker) it usually knocks the whole house out rather than the fireworks.

There's a panel at the rear held by some screws, remove this to inspect the element. It's usually pretty obvious when it's gone.

Going by what you said Heero it defo sounds like it was the element yellow glow, frying sound and the oven would not go above 60.

One thinks that maybe I was too hasty in getting a new oven

Well can't be helped. Hope you didn't have to spend too much on a replacement.

If there's a next time you'll know and can ask here. That's if we're still around. :D

Not as much as last oven this one was only £207 and that was including delivery as we did not want to spend crazy money atm as we don't know if we will be staying here tbh as at the moment we're in discussions about either down sizing, buying a brand new home or moving to a coastal area.

Similar to that... this one comes with a 40” Sanyo which is getting sold and I’m putting a 43” LG in.

Bed has usb charging points and headphone sockets also has 4.1 surround

I think I’ll work from bed from now on 😂😂

However, returning to more mundane spending... pair of curtains
