Last night - I had some nice (discounted) bone in beef shin. I cooked this slowly with lots of onion, tomatoes, yogurt and a good amount of paprika. Added some lemon zest at the end and served with a few veggies and lavish bread.

Large brown baps filled with smoked ham, Djon mustard, tomato and lettuce. Lite mayo.

Last night: Guinea fowl cooked over potatoes and onions in stock.
(These birds can be good value - Waitrose sell them at a fixed price so you can get a 1.5kg bird that price per kg is good compared to quality chickens. Yes the cheap birds are cheaper.) |

Turkey, ham and cheese escalopes. Roasted taters and parsnips. Leeks and carrots. Garlic sauce.

Made a couple of bunny chows for church small group Wednesday night.
One was based on a bunny recipe in a book swapping beans for chicken, hottish. The other was my own idea, quite mild with heat from pepper rather than chillies again chicken and closer to African style curry. Both were enjoyed and not much left bar some "soggy" crusts and the nice thing is we didn't have to take home dirty pans/tins since we ate the containers. |
