As TLC is going FTA on satellite, if it isn't already the case, it should become available to all Virgin subscribers from the lowest pack upwards.

There are now rumours that the date for the European MTV channels to start closing is on November 30th. Since this is a French post, it also mentions that MTV itself is potentially closing in France, alongside other Paramount brands like Paramount Network, Comedy Central, BET and Game One. The only remaining channels in France will be the Nickelodeon feeds.

I wonder if any of the Paramount channels available in the UK are at risk?

All our channels are at risk these days, Richard. We’ve lost some good ones already, like Disney and FX.

Well I can safely say I didn’t see TLC changing into E4 coming, I thought it would close. This is an improvement, TLC was drivel IMHO. Merging HGTV into Really makes sense too.

It was fresh and vibrant back in the day. Bea is and Butt-Head was a bit weird, though.

I'm quite surprised that HGTV is the channel getting axed, rather than the awkwardly named Quest Red.

TLC becoming a broader entertainment channel, using some of the Warner Bros. Television content, was more predictable.

Re: Virgin TV (2025)

Quest Red is more of a crime channel, so guess HGTV programming moving to Really is more of a natural fit

I remember last year Quest Red showing Warner Bros crime dramas - The Mentalist, Cold Case and The Closer

Re: Virgin TV (2025)

I wonder how much longer they will continue with both Quest Red and ID, two crime dominated channels, one free and one pay. I can see them closing Quest Red and just making ID free.

Re: Virgin TV (2025)

There is more new programming on Quest Red than ID aswell which makes me wonder considering that is the free one.

The Real Murders on Elm Street season 2 premiers on Quest Red rather than ID for example

i was thinking before you know what would be something great for virgin media to get? youtube premium for people in the top package. they seem to be pushing FAST channels etc but nothing beats youtube without the ads. I think it would really appeal to people who subscribe for that package.

Maybe i'm just biased tho...

Yes, I get YouTube Premium and it makes a huge difference to my enjoyment of the streamer.
