IF, the goal was offside, why didn't the lino flag it. The referee went to the lino, then ruled it out.

The most disgusting decision of this season in my view. The ball is cleanly struck and DOES NOT touch any other player. It is only offside IF the ball touches another Newcastle player , and it doesn't.

The Lino doesn't put his flag up if you look at the Tv pictures, so why does the ref go over to the lino, then after talking the lino puts his flag up.

The officials are poor.

I thought Newcastle deserved at least a point, two big turning points, the bad decision and Joe Hart's terrific save from Remy. The Toon did get overzealous but given the circumstances most teams would.

see you missed out the 2 blatant red card they should have had

Couldn't have been red, both challenges were offside.

Quote:

Referee Jones consulted with his assistant and ruled out the goal. TV cameras picked up a conversation between the two men, with the assistant asking the referee if the ball had struck (Yoan) Gouffran. Jones appeared to reply, wrongly, that it had, so the assistant told him the goal should be disallowed for offside."
Genius.

Should that not be enough, he's being ticked off by former referee's Halsey and Poll

Quote:

Interfering with an opponent is defined as: preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball. For example, by clearly obstructing the goalkeeper's line of vision or movement. It was a tough call but the goal that was disallowed does not meet the criteria to disallow the goal. Technically, the goal should have stood. That is the law. In law, the officials got it wrong."
Quote:

Newcastle United were denied a perfectly good equaliser for an offside given, unusually, by the referee rather than his assistant. Mike Jones was well placed and clearly thought that there was an issue as the ball flew in to Joe Hart's net from Cheick Tiote's well-struck shot.

"The fact that three Newcastle players were in offside positions was neither in dispute or an offence- players have to interfere with play or opponents for that offside position to become an issue and that did not happen."
Don't worry about Joe Hart though, his vision may be 2 yards sideways but the media will leave him alone until he knocks us out of the World Cup in the summer with one of his calamity James saves.

Arsenal to buy both Santon and Cabaye for £30m? Feel free Wenger. Cisse set to leave just behind Jonas. Newcastle will wait for another million then Cisse is off, Luuk De Jong and Siem De Jong set to replace, Luuk De Jong is set to sign on loan regardless of Cisse.

I would not say blatant, one probable, one possible.

As I have not read or heard a single comment in support of the decision to disallow the goal on the radio, TV and in papers ranging from the Sun to the Telegraph I feel vindicated in saying that a good goal was disallowed. I am not sure but I don't think there was a yellow card before that so 'in mitigation m'lud' I would suggest that the referee was mainly responsible for Newcastle players becoming frustrated.

Nah, not this window anyway, if at all. De Bruyne is the one leaving from the group of attacking midfielders we have. Matic's more of a holding type of central midfielder, which is the sort of player we've needed for a while in my opinion. As solid as Mikel can be, he doesn't really get play started from the back like Matic, and can slow things down. It's one in one out and De Bruynes fee will pay a large chunk of Matic's fee, if he comes that is. I'm surprised this window has been quiet so far. There's a few clubs that need players and look like they'll be paying over the odds the nearer the deadline gets. We're experts at that...

Being honest, I think he'll be off in the summer, for a nice profit as well I'd imagine. It's unlikely Hazard, Willian and Oscar, who are the preferred option for Jose at the moment, are all going to stay fit every game for the rest of the season so Mata will hopefully be involved in a large chunk of the remaining games. It's a shame the way things are going for him but I think the selections made by Jose recently sadly justify his lack of playing time. Matic went because of our reluctance to blood the youngsters for more than 10 minutes, if they're lucky, or so. I think, and hope, we're learning our lesson and a few more get their chance in the coming seasons. There's enough out on loan to choose from anyway. At least we can finally say one of our youngsters has made the breakthrough, and looks like he's going for big money :erm: Albeit not in the way you'd expect....

ARSENAL are all set to announce boss Arsene Wenger has agreed a new deal at the club.

Starsport understands the Frenchman has agreed to extend his stay at the north London club, which has entered its 18th year. The big announcement is believed to be on hold because the Gunners want to tie up vice-captain Per Mertesacker, 29, and stalwart right-back Bacary Sagna to new contracts as well and then reveal the three signings as a package.

Referee Mike Jones has been taken off Premier League duty this coming weekend after his howler in disallowing Cheick Tiote's thunderbolt against Manchester City.

It vindicates Alan Pardew's (and everyone else's) view that Jones got it badly wrong. Unfortunately Tiote's goal remains chalked off, the score was still 0-2 and the three points are still City's....
Probably no doubt later decisions he made he also factored in. Are the referee's deliberately making these cockups now they can't get goal line decisions wrong anymore? These season thus far has been absolutely shocking for decisions, diving and the usual nonsense and more so against the big clubs as usual, West Brom getting robbed at Stamford Bridge was a travesty.

But what can be done when top managers are hypocrites and defend divers before then criticising diving, see David Moyes or Jose Mourinho.

But that does not prove anything as ask yourself how many managers are interested in players who they knew at their former clubs as nearly every manager in the PS will go back to try to buy a player that they already knew previously.

Even though they have not been playing well they have won five of their last six league games so not really a crisis yet.

I was happy he didn't get chosen for man City. I never liked his style of football. Unlike some, i don't see success as the key factor, i want to see football i enjoy, tinged with success.

Mourinho style is to often stifle...which gets results, just not how i like to watch football being played.

---------- Post added at 09:21 ---------- Previous post was at 09:19 ----------

Interestingly, saying ferguson chose moyes because he was similar style, is what is called the "halo effect" in recruitment. They advise you to avoid that when recruiting, or at least, be aware it does have an effect.

Gotta prepare yourself for the worst. ;)

Still Arsenal have been slow and short of spark in recent games. Was really unhappy about the Villa game. It was laboured and casual and lack an aggressive streak. I am not sure if the players are tired or lack motivation but they need to step it up again.

On the other hand Arsenal often have spells like this in a season and as long as we win games whilst we're having it then it ain't too bad.

Still 15 mins left and Arsenal only have to look to Monday to see what can happen in 15 mins.

He doesn't have a buy out clause, under a fifa ruling he could pay off the rest of his contract. (Majority of players have contracts that prevent this) No one actually knows whether he can or cannot. The story came from Simon Bird, the notorious Newcastle United headhunter, he was banned from SJP under Joe Kinnear's stint as manager after writing crap in the paper that was made up. He's had a sour taste in his mouth since.

See the JFK rant at Journo's that's him.

He once slammed Michael Owen after his stint at Newcastle, calling him old and battered and generally the whole £100,000 a week for nothing thing. A few months later he caught up with Owen then at Manchester United and attempted to Interview him, only to be told politely to... You know.

One thing remains a certainty though, Cabaye won't be at Newcastle next season regardless of rules. I'd like to be wrong but who'd bet against it?
Oh and forget about the banned SJP journo's... We now charge them for interviews apparently.
