Been to group today which was great :)

I got given a eureka a4 (see here......

http://www.sensorytools.com/eureka.htm ) for more info.

Althought old it's apparently an amazing bit of kit.

Trouble is is it uses floppy discs so I'm in need of an external USB drive for my pc.

But as these things are still silly money it's was a very generous gift and a big thumbs up to my group for giving me it.

Nice. :) That sounds like a great group of people you get to spend time with.

Bit flabbergasted that my letter of 30g to my wife 4000 miles away in the US actually got there 2 days after shipping it (delivered by FedEx), having said that for £49 I'd have been a bit annoyed if it wasn't there by end-of-tomorrow.

Had my laser surgery, it was nothing. I really had nothing to be worried about. It was over in 5 minutes, no pain whatsoever and within 2 minutes my eyesight was crystal clear. Have to keep away from bright light for a day or so but other than that it's all good :)

Glad to hear that the surgery was so successful. :)

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

Well I'm happy and relieved to have finally tackled a job which I've been putting off for ages - removing and redoing the pointing of a section of crazy paving half way up the front steps to our house. It'd started cracking and lifting a few years ago but the excessive snow and ice last year finally did it and it had started to look a real mess. After attacking it with a club hammer and bolster I suddenly remembered that I'd bought a decent sized SDS drill some years ago so dug it out of the garage and set to work. What a difference!!! It only took 2-3 hours yesterday to remove all the old mortar and today I spent a similar amount of time repointing the slabs. Apart from a badly cut finger, courtesy of a buried piece of broken glass, all went well and dare I say that I am delighted with the results. I can now leave/enter the house without feeling any dread or shame.... :)

My happy thought - well I am now back learning Braille as my hand is a lot better :)

On the whole my life is on an even keel (for now anyway) so I feel a little fluffy.

Not had any abuse from members recently so I've opened up my PM's again.

Conformation class 2 (the Son) next week and I'm looking forward to that.

HHHmmm....

Hiding behind a monitor and sending poison pen missives. Very pathetic and a total coward in my book.

I only accept PM's from contacts and moderators so you know that no idiotic ones will get through.

Just been round to my daughter's (and her fiancé's) new (to them) house - they picked up the keys at 4pm today.

Cracked open a bottle of champagne there to celebrate - they won't move in for a couple of weeks, as they are off to the USA (Orlando, South Carolina, Vegas) for a couple of weeks holiday.

They grow up so fast.......

They were quite impressed by how reasonable the meal was. 3 courses each and a bottle of wine for under £60. She did her work experience there when she was at school and was very interested to see how the original features had been incorporated into the design of the restaurant.

It's not often in this life that we get a second chance so it's great hearing that you and your family can look forward to a good future together. :tu: to you all.

Really pleased for you and your family, den - it was brave of whoever made the first move, but obviously worth it.

Yes when l look at it now it was stubborn foolhardy pride that kept us apart but hindsight a wonderful thing after the event and if only some of us had it we would not have missed 24 years of being apart but all is healed now and now we have many more great days to look ahead to in the future.:)

We've had the council in for the past 2 week and half rewiring and updating the kitchen, we made the stupid decision of staying in the house while they do it, the happy news is its nearly finished, maybe monday!.

Yes that reminds us of the same stupid decision when we had our place decorated several years ago as the place was like a battlefield with things strewn everywhere and everything in a state of disarray.

Its a pain isn't it we had no choice on the matter with it being the council, looking forward to the weekend with no banging and drilling first thing in the morning haha.

Yes there does seems to have been a awful lot of fog in the last week in parts of Southern Britain as where my parents live in Fareham it has been prevalent every morning since Sunday.
