American Football is gaining a significant foothold in this country. Tottenham Hotspur are building a new stadium that will have a retractable pitch, with an American football field underneath and have signed a ten year deal with the NFL to play at least two games a season. Other games will also continue to be played at Wembley with a full stadium.

It is certainly becoming more popular in this country but Football our number one game will always dwarf it in terms of scale and popularity.

I don't understand why it's becoming more popular in this country because it's a dreadfully boring game. Having said that cricket and golf are even more boring and yet they're popular so maybe they''s a lot of boring people in this country!

The game is very technical and tactical, if you enjoy a game of chess you will get the game. Its all about engineering mismatches and creating openings. I love the game, since I first saw it on "World of Sport" in the 1970's.

Yes l don't mind it at all as the good thing to start with is there are plenty of breaks during a game which gives one the ability to go for a penny and have a cup of rosey lea that little bit more.;)

Sorry I don't like chess either! American football is all 'stop and start' from what I've seen of it but hey each to their own. It wouldn't do for us to all like the same would it?

Agreed it is stop start, some necessary, some not. Its a lot to do with ad breaks, hopefully the NFL, will cut them down a bit, but I am not counting on it.

I completely get that sport fans generally think that American football is a lesser beast than our big game, but the principle is the same in respect of the likes of Netflix translating their success in the States to the Premier League over here. Yes, it costs to land the rights, but I'd wager that Netflix and Amazon both have bigger pockets than Sky.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that a plan had already been hatched. Sky may get away with the next rights battle if they are lucky, but beyond that I think anything could happen.

Looks like the Dortmund game will be postponed, there's apparently been some sort of explosion on the team bus and Bartra on the way to hospital.

Only just happened so the reports may not be completely accurate but the police have confirmed that something has happened.

Got 3 boxes in my house. 1 was a TiVo and 2 others were the basic v box

Just got two further tivos to replace the older boxes and now my sky movies and sky sports have disappeared off the two newer boxes

This isn't right is it? Virgin media haven't brought in a bullsht "only on one box" rule?
