Channel 4 could show Champions League football for the first time

The Daily Telegraph can reveal that the public-service broadcaster is exploring the prospect of buying one fixture per matchweek [in conjunction with BT Sport] under the new three-year UK television contract that will be awarded next month.

Interesting as l would not have thought they would get anything like ITV's ratings when the had the CL on their channel before they lost their rights.

I'd be amazed if BT Sport didn't retain the European matches let's be honest their offering would look particularly weak without this.

With what Sky paid for the lions share of the Premier League can they honestly afford to compete.

So £1.2 billion ? Just shows the madness involved with Football , at the end of the day I'm sure some suckers out there will continue to pay for it.

That always puzzles me,why so many people don't watch a programme they like just because it's not on one of the so called 'main' channels! If I like a programme I'll watch it no matter what channel it's on!

I think it's because of the coss-promotion. ITV has massive audiences from shows like Coronation Street and the X-Factor.

Well if Virgin pull BT Sport out of the XL TV pack then we will certainly be
saying adios.

That's not likely to happen in the foreseeable future, though, is it, Den?

Well if they do get rid of it then Virgin would need something pretty substantial up their sleeves to replace it OB.
