I havent watched MTV since the early 2000's.
On further research, I think you are right, mainly crappy "reality" stuff is being kept.

With the likes of Youtube i think music channels are becomming a thing of the past now, does the vm boxes have youtube or spotify on them as that might be a option for you for background music.

Yeah I guess so. Although MTV aren't on the ball when it comes to up-to-date releases like YouTube, the playlists on mtv are easy to listen to.

I guess smarttube needs using more. Spotify mods are no more with accounts being terminated for those using modded Spotify apks.

Music channels are diminishing rapidly. I can’t think why, as they must be as cheap as chips to run.

Yes, I use YouTube on my 360 box now, but it’s not the same.

Is it Showaddywaddy or the New Seekers that gets your toes tapping OB?

I can't watch them as it is a cycle of: three videos, five minutes of ads

I use Youtube Premium for music videos.

Christ! That was a former life!

Try Taylor Swift for a start!

I think, actually, It is a good use of FAST channels to use them for music videos. It would be a great way of discovering stuff you would not have picked up yourself.

There are now rumours that the date for the European MTV channels to start closing is on November 30th. Since this is a French post, it also mentions that MTV itself is potentially closing in France, alongside other Paramount brands like Paramount Network, Comedy Central, BET and Game One. The only remaining channels in France will be the Nickelodeon feeds.

I wonder if any of the Paramount channels available in the UK are at risk?
