Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

It's only just shown up on the account and the cs person said it is the discount applied for the BB activation, apparently I was getting free BB activation but paying £40 iinstallation charge. The extra discount I am getting makes this the same as price as free installation and a £20 BB activation charge which is what is advertised in the email I received.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

Not long got off the phone with sales & have been quoted £99.50 / month for VIP 50Mb bundle + caller display (1V+HD box & 1 V HD Box).
Currently only have TV XL with 2 standard set top boxes. I have been given an installation date of 1st October.

My concern is that I have not been quoted any one off costs for installation or HD activation & I now realise I was never even asked about my current phone providor & keeping my number.

Does this sound right?

Been on hold for 10 mins trying to get back through to sales! But would much prefer too speak to someone who's accent I can understand.;)

Did you mention you had an existing landline provider? Virgin can port the number over but it may affect the install date. Alternatively you can do it after install - but that takes 10-14 days

They should have confirmed the cost of installation or whether you were getting it free As has been said previously there are no costs for HD activation on the VIP bundle.

It is what I've been saying for a while now. the VIP bundles automatically come with V+HD and V HD boxes

Thanks for the replys & Info guys

Managed to get through to whatever distant land the sales team are in & went through it all again to check, only to be told I would only get 1 V+HD box & NO further box as we already had 2. WTF???

Yes I have 2 Scientific Atlanta 4200 I think but the VIP clearly states "V+ HD Box, plus an extra V HD box"

Neven got as far as the phone issues

Is there a number I can call in the UK to speak to someone who doesn't need a script & elocution lessons?

This is quickly turning into a farce!

I received my first VIP50 bill today & it shows the £20 activation charge, which is fine, but it also shows a £35 manned installation charge and a £3.50 partial month charge for Premium HD!

To top it off, the internet connection went down for three hours last night and Dave from Delhi was insisting it's an area fault & won't be fixed for three days, then hung up on me!

Then the V+ box reboots three times while watching the Champions League on SS2HD & recording a film on Film4HD.

Not a happy chappie at the moment.

i didn,t get a 2nd hd box when i upgraded 3 weeks ago,and i double checked when i didn,t get it and was told it does not come with another hd box,so no idea really, but then if i had the 2nd i need to pay another £7 for the hd channels for the 2nd box,so i not to bothered .

Yes, it will show a charge for the Premium HD. However you discount will have been increased by £7 to keep the overall price the same

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

Yeah, the guy I just spoke to made me aware that the discount will be £44.94 as opposed to £37.94 to cover the extra £7 but said they don't/won't refund the £3.50 as it's a partial month's charge.

I did, however, managed to get the £35 installation charge credited to my account before the DD goes out from the bank in a few days, but forgot to ask about the VHD box upgrade. D'oh!

I also managed to get an engineer booked for tomorrow AM to check the increasingly flaky SA V+ box.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

Finally spoke to someone in the UK (yay).

£95.75 for 6 months then £103/month after (double yay)

Installation brought foreward 1 week (tripple yay)

BUT.....I have to pay for the V+HD & V HD boxes at £99 & £49 respectively (BOO)

"included in your bundle" is now about as truthful as BT's "up to 20Mb"

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

That's all completely wrong pricing for VIP 50 - unless you are having more than the 2 HD boxes

Even then the costs for the V+HD and V HD box are very wrong

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

thats a crap deal, what they giving you in the 6 months free, they have clawed back with charging you the price of the boxes and its a higher price than we all pay minus the vhd box,i have a standard 2nd box and only pay £96.50 and only paid £20 for the bb activation,so not a very good deal you got there at all.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

Thanks for the input guys, it's much appreciated
Only 2 HD boxes (one "+" & one "V HD")
So what's my next move to try & get the right price for the VIP 50Mb HD Bundle?

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

Hi just been speaking to retentions and the first person i spoke to said that there was a £49 activation fee on the vhd box ( as i have a standard box at the moment apart from the v+ downstairs ) i tried quoting what you have said BENMCR and he did not understand about what i was saying ( he was english ).
Then i called ten minutes after and spoke to a wonderful woman and she knew all about this and this forum, so now i have got a install date of 1st oct and all the fees waived ( install, actvation and engineer visit ):D:D:D:D:D:D
