Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Well it has finally happened grant you far sooner than one suspected it would my Dad has just phoned me and asked me to do something that my sister said she was going to do but guess what she did not bother her excuse was that she forgot and advised him to ask me which he did and I finally said no I can't. I made a promise and I'm keeping it and that is I will not make it easy for her anymore and let's face it if I keep coming to the rescue then my Dad will never see her for she is or ever realise just what I am expected to do at a drop of a hat.

Well done weenie.
I've been called in for a disciplinary meeting in 2 weeks time. I am now going to be nervous for the next 2 weeks. Ugh. Apparently my behaviour during a recent count was put into the customer feedback report and they need to discuss it with me. I cannot think of anything I've done wrong. Ugh. Eventually, found out what it is about. Some job I did in March for VS, run by Americans. I swore at one of my coworkers in front of them. Thing is, a couple of others have also been called in for a disciplinary meeting. |

What a morning we have had. We were on our way to a funeral and we had a piuncture in the car, I had turned off my mobile ( one that my daughter in law Had gave me last week , ) as we would be going into the service. The phone would not turn on the screen just went green and it was pouring of rain. I knocked a door for help and the couple could not have done enough for us, They let us phone the RAC and while Joe waited for them coming the man drove me to the service, We are now back in the house and now the phone is working when I charged it up again. This couple was a God Send,

What's the point of making a bullying complaint when it gets basically swept under the rug, especially when that person is on one of their last warnings? I need to get out of that company, they keep promising me work then never give me it.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
I feel knackered.
It's the end of our financial year at work, so as a requisitioner (purchaser), I've spent the last few weeks getting quotes for equipment, most of which I've never even heard of, and ordering it. We have to have all the deliveries today (a deadline I am already going to miss, as two suppliers have had problems with stock, and have not been able to deliver), and I have a pile of equipment in boxes in my office that I can't get rid of as the lecturers who have ordered it are not answering my emails asking where they want it sent. The reason for the panic? The Uni operating a system whereby any unused budget is clawed back, and the lecturers failing to realise they will have unspent money at the end of the year in reasonable time to get equipment ordered and in. Thankfully, my line manager's boss has stated that next year, the last date for orders (to ensure we get any quotes and equipment in for 31st July) is the last day of May. It's not even as though the equipment is anything particularly interesting. ---------- Post added at 16:03 ---------- Previous post was at 15:57 ---------- Quote:
Regarding your own position, is it possible for you to move to a different building? While it's not an ideal solution to the problem of bullying, it would at least reduces the chances of you being bullied? |

I can't move office sadly, my only option is to resign and then not be allowed to claim benefits. I have applied for some agency work today so hopefully that comes off so I can pick and choose my shifts. Must say, one manager has been brilliant. The one I had all the issues with last year, laid into a group of them who were teasing me last week when it was obvious I wasn't in the mood for teasing. She told them it has to stop, if they carry on then I can make a complaint about them for bullying and that it might be wise to not let that happen. A couple who were there that night and with me yesterday did apologise to me, saying they never realised it upset me that much. I told them normally it doesn't bother me, I love a laugh as much as anyone but since the whole thing with my Nan started my sense of humour has failed big time.

As you may recall I thought I lost my engagement ring last month, hubby is just off the phone to me and my engagement ring and wedding band are going into the jewelers to be rhodium plated and taken down a size as he said we really cannot risk me losing them.
Why is this moan well because I will be without both rings for 10 days :( but the good news is they will come back all shiny and brand new looking. I'm looking forward to seeing them back to their former glory just not looking forward to not having them while the progress is being done. |

This wretched excuse for a Summer. We've been down here in Cornwall for nearly three weeks and you can count the days it didn't rain on the fingers of one hand.
It's all rain and mist now as I type. At least we're in that guaranteed oasis of the British pub. Must be hell for those with kids on a camping holiday not to mention the strain on the wallet. |

Tell me about it. Still, by the time we get down there they should have the back of store done, and all we have to do is assist with the shop floor which is over 2 levels. I did it in February, we got to the store at 15:27 and didn't leave until 01:47.

Mark do you not have a union who could negotiate better terms and conditions and if not you and your co workers could always join a Union.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Sadly, we don't. And been told that because we are all on zero hour contracts they don't owe us anything. Never mind the fact that when I joined I was promised a minimum of 16 hours a week.
|
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Mark have you thought about shop work Sainsburys, Asda etc where you would more than likely be offered anything between a 8-20 hour contract and remember you would more than likely be offered overtime plus working in supermarkets at least you would have holiday pay etc.

Also in relation to your current employer you do have rights even on a zero hour contract. http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=4469 |

What we do now is we have a savings account on where we put money away each month so we should be covered for a while. I know this may sound bad but I would not do what many I know have did and pay out thousands for a operation that will only give my dog a extended period of say 6-12 months. When the time comes which I'm dreading by the way then we will way up the situation and if it is going to give him a better quality of life & high percent of cure then we will go for. I will not do what we did with our first dog and that was we kept him going for as long as possible but looking back this was selfish on our part and the only excuse I can give is we were young and naive as we took out a loan that we were still paying long after our first dog had passed, the only thing I would still do the same and I have no regrets at all doing is we paid for him to get cremated separately and his ashes returned to us I think that cost alone just over 」100 and that's going back 15 years ago. I had to laugh today when I phoned for a vets appointment and they said tomorrow at 5pm and can you bring a urine sample as that is one of the reasons why were taking him is he can't seem to pee atm among other stuff, so I really do not know how I'm expected to do this I think I may leave this job to hubby ;) |

Damn it to Hell. Because I switched jobs yesterday without anyone being told, I have now had a PCR added to my personnel file. A PCR is a Performance Counselling Record, in other words it's a record of me being absent from work. I am so angry about it. Don't think the manager will be able to help me get it off my file though, as I don't see why I should suffer when it wasn't my fault that I was moved to her job.

I would if I knew which union to join, and it's not counselling as in counselling we think of, it's just the fancy name they give their formal warnings for not showing up to a job. I can have it removed from my file, but I would need to talk to the manager who gave me it. As I am firmly against him (he still owes me money from March, which has been escalated to area management) and will always back the other manager against him so the chances of me getting it removed are slim to none.

You really have to laugh and feel sorry at people who can only criticize you especially when they need you far more than you need them, and they wonder why their grandsons don't visit. Apparently I spend too much and I should get my dog put down since he is now getting old and has needed to go the vets a few times this year. He even had the nerve to say that I don't need to put flowers on my Mum's grave every week honestly it took me all my time to not say and what be like you and my sister and have my Mother's grave look forgotten and bare so instead I replied Dad it is helping me grieve. Honestly I really dislike him atm still love him just finding it really hard to understand him tbh
Trust me my Dad is walking on very thin ice atm I'm afraid to say and I thought what a low blow even for him commenting on the flowers I buy weekly to place on my Mum's grave. |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Maybe it's too painful for them to go to the grave weenie? But yes, what a low blow. At least he had the guts to do the low blow to your face, unlike some people I know.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Mark he say's so much if I told you it would make you squirm honestly I have told a few people who I totally trust with what is going on and they are disgusted at him, hubby said he is just a bully always has been and now my Mum is no longer here he just let's rip on me. Unfortunately for me his words hurt and my mood swings are causing my hubby whip lash one minute I'm up and the next I'm down and in tears.
He said 6 things to me today I should get my dog put down (no way why because I love him) Why is hubby getting my wedding ring made (don't know ask him) Why did I need such a big car (hubby picked it so ask him) Why did we waste our money in sending our son to China (to give him a experience of a life time) Why do I need to place flowers on my Mum's grave (because I love my Mum and still do) I lie down to my illness (no I do not) I have gave my answers on here yet I can't say these to him. Trust me Mark he constantly brings me down and I have had to stop hubby going over I wish I could get angry but I just get upset. It has got to the stage that when he phones I dread picking up the phone as I know my good day has ended. |

Either put the phone down quietly as soon as he start to make unwelcome comments or work out a phone code for those people you are happy to speak to on the phone. Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Thank TD, nash, den and Jo.
I have been advised not to give him the opportunity of stealing my happiness. I suspect that I will kick myself many times as I know I might slip up it could be something as simple as phoning him and saying good news the dog is going to be ok as it's only a infection he has or Guess what Dad your grandson beat his pb today in the gym or the wee one is Maths 2. Sadly even these simple conversations my joy is shot down with his negative comments as he always has something negative to say like the dog should be put down, or should he not be studying or phone me when he is in maths 1 as no one ever remembers 2nd place as these are all conversations that I have experienced with him. So for now he will not be hearing about my life atm, I have also been advised that when I take him shopping I have to make him realise that I'm at the shops for him alone so I have not even to pick up a pint of milk what I have to do is say Dad I will meet you here, now this should be good as hubby say's this will shock him and guess what our next shopping trip is next Wednesday. I only hope and pray I have the strength to do this. When I told hubby of this advice he said and you could always add now remember and get everything from here as this is the only supermarket that I will be taking you to as I have given some thought about what you said remember you said that I waste money and spend too much well I have given this some thought Dad and your right, so I've now decided to take your advice and to be more thrifty and by not traveling to 3 supermarkets for you to save a penny here and there I'm now going to save on fuel, wear and tear on my BIG car as well as the environment are you proud of me Dad :D naturally hubby was joking well I hope he was as I'm sure he would never expect me to say this but he made me laugh as I know he would say this without a second thought. |
