Arsène Wenger is adamant that Theo Walcott’s greatest asset, his lightning pace, will be undiminished by surgery to his cruciate knee ligament but has admitted that he would be less certain of a full recovery if the injury had happened later in his career.

Wenger also admitted that he fears Abou Diaby will not return to full fitness before the end of the season but is confident that Tomas Rosicky will sign another one-year extension to his contract.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/foo...ne-Wenger.html
Diaby has got injured again while being injured, basically a new injury appeared.

Good news about Rosicky, a few years ago we were all talking about the non-existent older heads in the group.

Bacary Sagna has been offered a staggering final pay day at Galatasaray. There is also interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco and the Middle East.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...ansfer-3009157
Sagna is undoubtedly an asset but he didn't ever step up, I mean when he came he grew and grew into the game and it was just a matter of time before I thought he would start banging in loads of goals but he's become really hit and miss, even at crossing the ball. Sadly during periods where he was showing great great promise he hit bad times like the death of his brother, then injuries/brakes

This is what I have never understood about the likes of Suarez, Drogba and Ronaldo. They are bloody good players but the diving, cheating and just generally being an absolute plonker doesn't endear them to anyone but the fans of their own teams.

I am watching soccer saturday, and they are discussing Man Utd.

They switched to Jamie redknapp, who said, what Man utd players would get into the Man City team. he mentioned Van Persie and rooney as certainties (or mentioned them).

I am not sure. Both would improve the squad, but I wouldn't swap aguero or nelgrado for either.

Am i biased?

sigh...pantilimon...though I appreciate it is an unusual name compared to de gea, so would be hard for some.

And could be argued that de gea is, at times. If Hart was playing at his best (and not sure he is), then i wouldn't say that.

Given up on Stevenage staying up in League 1, cannot understand why the players cannot perform. Decent squad there, manager did something right last time he managed them but doesn't seem able to get them playing well at the moment. Sad to say it, but if they do go down then maybe he needs to be sacked. Otherwise I can see Stevenage sinking back down to the Conference next season.

Not from the direction the ball was coming, Hart never moved it was so well hit. Gouffran was not interfering with Hart in any way whatsoever.

Best of all read this crap from the BBC online commentary.

'Offside, Newcastle United. Cheick Tioté tries a through ball, but Yoan Gouffran is caught offside.'

A 'through ball' do me a favour.

Sorry but he was in the vision of Joe Hart and thus so is interfering with play and not just that but on a second point three Newcastle players were offside.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window

Hart didn't have someone standing infront of him blocking his vision from the get go. The goal stands in my opinion, player in the offside position didn't even touch the ball, he dodged it. In any other part of play the game owuld have gone on, I've seen offside players have a bearing on a defenders decision/vision, do we call that up as well.

Look at the teams we have to get above who have far more strength in depth.

Man City
Chelsea
Arsenal
Man Utd
Spurs

Would the ball have hit him if he hadn't moved

I think Liverpool are better than spurs and Man Utd.

I actually think Everton are not out of it.

And home games will be key, against the top sides.

All these sides named have much more strength in depth and that's what usually counts in a tough PL season.

And he moved away from both ball and Hart, thus fulfilling all of the requirements of the instructions given to officials in your earlier post. ;)

I thought Newcastle deserved at least a point, two big turning points, the bad decision and Joe Hart's terrific save from Remy. The Toon did get overzealous but given the circumstances most teams would.

nothing excuses this though

that was malicious. he deserves a ban, the FA need to look at it tomorrow morning.

Was nasty but as he was booked for it then are the FA able to do anything more?

They brought in a new rule where things can get reviewed or something, I can't find the link :(

I think it is only if the ref saw it but didn't take any action at the time.

nice find :) weird though, the BBC say...

Quote:

It will mean the FA can take retrospective action for violent conduct and off-the-ball incidents regardless of whether they are seen by match officials.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24847724
that though doesn't match the FAs statement

Quote:

From the start of the 2013-14 campaign, where the referee’s view of an incident has been completely obstructed and the assistant referees or fourth official are not in a position such that they could be expected to judge the challenge, based on factors such as their distance from or line of sight to an incident, The FA will be able to take retrospective action.

That may well be but most of them invent headlines most of the time so my advice is to take it with a pinch of salt.

From that angle Gouffran is virtually level with Hart in regards to Tiote, so not in his line of sight at all.

Pardew to Manuel was priceless. I grow more fond of Pardew each day.

Sorry every time I try to type his surname my phone autocorrects it to offside.

Alan Pardew 52. Manuel Pellegrini 60.
