There are so many little touches that make it such a pleasure to use.
Enjoyed a suggestion and want to set a series link? You can do that by just selecting the show in the show list and setting a series link. Like x actor and want to see what else they have been in? Well you can do that from the same screen as well. |

Those wanting a Netflix app will be happy to hear that Netflix are going to start their European invasion early next year http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/15/n...-uk-next-year/
Hopefully they will give Lovefilm some much need competition and at some point get onto Tivo. |

Virgin Media shorts added to app section on tivo.

This looks awesome, cant wait. Am getting the 500gb, how many hours does that include sd and hd

The 500GB box is pretty special, too, recording around 250 hours of standard TV or around 50 hours of HD TV. |
Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
I take it the free install applies to the 1TB model as well? Would prefer to wait for it to drop further, but £99 isn't bad.
If I went for the 500GB box as a trial run to see how I got on with filling it or not, do you think they'd let me "upgrade" to the 1TB box later if I paid the additional £50? |

Well with sky your first box is free, with a 12 month warranty so no issue for 12 months. After that they say you need to pay £60 for a warranty replacement. I say either threaten to leave, free box! or pay £49.99 for a new "exsisting customer replacemnt box" So a 1tb tivo is £99, your first sky box is free then assuming it breaks after 12 months get another for £49.99 and if that breaks after 12 months get another £49.99 saving 1p over 3 yearS of having a tivo lol. The sell it on ebay for £35 saving £35.01p over a tivo lol, |

I will say I heard about 3 months ago 1tb stock was to be reduced and replaced with a multiroom 2tb box. Now it seems the 1tb box is £49.99 for exsisting customers or £149 for new It was £249 for everyone. so lets wait and see eh. I mean if you wanted to reduced stock slashing the price is a good way to go, especially if you keep a nextgen box quiet till you have shifted the older box. The none recordable SkyHD box turned out ot be a reality, all these things are part of the same rumor |

Ben, does that mean from the EPG you can now select iPlayer programs? |
Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
From the backwards EPG yes, the programmes will also appear as the rest of the catch up content does so will be in 'Search and Browse'
I suspect it will only start working from today though, any existing content probably won't link |
Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
That is great news Ben many thanks for confirming.
That is one less thing my Mrs will be able to moan about tomorrow night! I'm just trying to prepare for all the things TiVo won't do that V+ currently does that I'll be moaned at by the Mrs tomorrow night about!! |

Quick question, my VM 12 month contract is up on the 5th August, now i shall be ordering the 500GB TiVo box when i renew the contract for 18 months, but would i get the V+ HD box moved into another room for free? also would they charge the monthly fee of £5 or would it be £11.50 for M+ TV or does this get waved?
|
Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Thanks Denfone. I'm having the Tivo installed downstairs & the v+ moved upstairs.
Can't wait to see the new features it has to offer. ---------- Post added at 19:36 ---------- Previous post was at 19:34 ---------- sorry I should have said vhd box moved upstairs |

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Hey guys, i'm a bit overwhelmed by all the TIVO information but was hoping someone may be able to help me here. I currently have 1 V+HD box downstairs and 1 VHD box upstairs, I was wondering what the cost would be to upgrade the V+HD box to the 500GB TIVO box whilst moving my current V+HD box in place of my VHD box. I'm on the VIP service.
Many Thanks for any help. |
Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
£49.95 and possible £3 a month if you aren't on VIP 50
|

Yup, holding down the power button should turn off the TV. If it's not working it may be a different remote code you need
|

There is less of a need to do so in the UK (and Europe). Remember in the US TiVo is an add on to cable, so they are competing against the CableCo's own DVRs
In the UK TiVo is the DVR for Virgin, so they aren't competing |
