This will cheer you up on a cold Monday morning

Three little ducks go into a Bar.......

"Say, what's your name?" the bartender asked the first duck.
"Huey," was the reply.
"How's your day been, Huey?"
"Great. Lovely day. Had a ball. Been in and out of puddles all day. What else could a duck want?" said Huey

"Oh.. That's nice," said the bartender. He turned to the second duck, "Hi, and what's your name?"
"Dewey," came the answer from duck number two..
"So how's your day been, Dewey! ?" he asked.
"Great. Lovely day. I've had a ball too. Been in and out of puddles all day myself. What else could a duck want?"

The bartender turned to the third duck and said, "So, you must be Louie?"
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
"No," she said, batting her eyelashes.
"My name is Puddles."

Not specifically a happy thought, but something that made me chuckle, but I didn't think it worth starting a thread.

Facebook has started translating foreign status updates to the language of the reader, using Bing to translate.

Good idea, in theory.

What happened last night was a Turkish friend of mine posted something to a rather attractive female friend of his (also Turkish), in Turkish. Being curious when I saw this with a translate button underneath, I click the translate.

According to Bing, he was asking her if she had wood.. Having largely the same sense of humour as Mr Love Monkey, I found that amusing.

Good to see that the benefits of having the Operation outweigh the downside of having to have an injection.

Good luck on the day dilli. May the Anesthetist have a light touch and the nurses be pretty to take your mind off the ordeal. :)

I'm shocked that my Aviva car insurance has only gone up by 1 pence this year for my Astra VXR, considering they gave me 12 weeks free last year! I was expecting over £500 when that discount was removed.

If anyone is interested they're currently doing 15 weeks free.

Nice result. :)

After a week of tests I got some of the results I was dreading the most this morning so .... My Happiness is that I have borderline High Blood Pressure. Nothing that a slight Medicine tweak can't sort out but apparently the tablets have been causing some of my recent problems and should also explain why I have been having recurrent heamorrhages in my eyes.

Now if the rest of the tests are OK and I get a good result next week when I have my biopsy I shall be a very happy Jo

Today Friday 10th February was my last day with Virgin Media, I left the premises for the last time at 12pm.

I took my redundancy early as opposed to the official closure date of the 30th April but I doubt it will get that far as people are leaving in droves the majority with a new position.

Now all I need to do is look to the future.:)

Nearly had heart failure in our local Papa Johns (excellent Pizza place). Had ordered my pizza for collection online. I got a phone call from the restaurant to say the pizza was ready so I went walking up there. It's only just up the road at the end of my road, so it's not a long walk.

Got in the restaurant, and my card was declined 3 times. I was getting a little worried. Turns out they'd unpluged the card reader from the phone.

My boss has got himself a 27" Thunderbolt Display for his Macbook Pro... it's gorgeous (and huge!).

So, why does that make me happy? Because he has given me his old monitor to take home, so I now have a 22" 16:10 widescreen monitor on my home PC, instead of the awful old little 4:3 LCD I have been using for ages. It's so good finally having a big screen at home, and having a decent resolution :)

Excellent stuff. You must be feeling very happy..... :)

Well we've just had a bit of good news too. Osem Jnr has just been for his very first job interview and been offered the post subject to the usual blurb, CRB checks etc. It's only a part time role as a leisure centre party host but, as he's in the middle of his 'A' levels, that suits us and him just fine for now. Also it'll be good experience towards his ultimate goal of running his own karate club which will involve training kids aged from 5 years old. We're very proud of him.

That sounds like a very good work experience for Osem Jnr. It will be a complete contrast to his A Level studies and he gets paid as well. No wonder you are proud of him Osem.

Bet that's a relief - I just hate it when stuff like that has to be done. Thanks to certain very helpful CF geeks, however, I'm usually able to cope..... :tu:

Eew how gruesome is that Dilli? I had an accident after my my stitches were removed from my hand and the wound opened up again. They told me they don't restitch and I ended up with blood poisoning, not good! :erm:

Please stop adding to the cruel world of dolphin abuse .....

quote : Last week, we received word from a whistleblower that a dolphin named Dixie, who is exploited in SeaWorld's Discovery Cove "swim with dolphins" attraction in Orlando, gave birth to a stillborn infant. What's more, even though SeaWorld knew that Dixie was due to give birth, the park apparently did not have a veterinarian available for Dixie at any point during or after her labor. She was forced to endure this traumatic experience—and its aftermath—without proper care.

quote:"Swimming with Dolphins" and other types of dolphin encounters are springing up not only at marine parks but even at individual resorts.

There's no denying that these experiences are thrilling for kids (and adults too.)

Yet ethical issues swirl around even the best-run high-profile facilities. These top places contribute to a world-wide appetite for dolphin experiences: and copycat facilities around the world may operate with fewer scruples and less scrutiny.

Been to group today which was great :)

I got given a eureka a4 (see here......

http://www.sensorytools.com/eureka.htm ) for more info.

Althought old it's apparently an amazing bit of kit.

Trouble is is it uses floppy discs so I'm in need of an external USB drive for my pc.

But as these things are still silly money it's was a very generous gift and a big thumbs up to my group for giving me it.
