Cable Forum - What are you eating now?

The only correct way for steaks plus the sliced onions and mushrooms and you get those lovely char-grill stripes. I have two, one is a single pan, but the second fits full width across two gas burners for a serious mixed grill.

We had a griddle but was such a pain to clean so now use a cast iron pan, oil the steak not the pan and for normal thickness steaks at most 1 min on each side, sear off the edges especially any fat.

I'd prefer to barbie but too much work just for a couple of steaks and getting fire hot enough to do it properly is a pain.

I was told to go to 5 Guys for a burger. "5 Guys and their 50 Dependant Relatives" it should be renamed.

Cheeseburger £7.95. Regular fries £4.50!!!! Cola £3.25!!!!!!!!!!

So I had 2 sausage, 2 eggs, chips and beans for £3.90 in the market. With a free can of Pepsi.

Smoked gammon steaks on the griddle with pineapple rings and mushrooms. Oven chips and peas. sauces.

A large selection of chilli sauce samples. And fresh chillies. And jams. And curry pastes. Merthyr Tydfil Chilli Fest was very well run this year.

I was even given several freebies by friends who lurk on the same FB chilli pages.

Tons of strawberries from the allotment. Why do they all ripen at the same time ? They are keeping me very 'regular' anyway...

28 day aged rump steaks griddled medium-rare. Onion slices and mushrooms. Oven chips and beer battered onion rings. Peas, Béarnaise sauce and ketchup.

Bottle of [Yellow Tail] Australian Chardonnay.
