I don't disagree but your post appeared to suggest it would launch sooner on BT boxes.

Sorry, I didn't mean to give that impression!

Anyone seen the Premier League now advertised on the Amazon Fire Stick home page ?

Be interested to see how they cope and what quality we get , I've just looked at games and it appears there's 6 on Wednesday 4th December including Man United v Spurs and Liverpool v Everton which should get a high number of viewers.

Yes l have seen it advertised on Amazon Prime's home page and the test will be how good the Streaming quality will be and as you have pointed out can they cope with a lot of viewers.

l won't be long before we know those answers.

I hope the quality is better than The Man in the High Castle when I binged the latest series. Poor darks and obvious compression artefacts.

The Man in the High Castle has always suffered from what looks like an artistic decision to wash out the colour palette. It tends to make low-light scenes (of which there are many) look like muddy monochrome. I daresay it looks fabulous on the ludicrously expensive monitors in their post production suite but on my own modestly expensive Samsung tellybox it's quite frustrating at times.

l have watched quite a few series on AP where the quality has been pretty good but streaming live football will be a different kettle of fish.

Interestingly no mention of what we can expect SD , HD or UHD ?

As I say the 4th December will see two games which I'd expect would see large viewer numbers and then there are another 4 matches on top of that so let's hope Amazon have anticipated this.

Looking at the link there and from what l can read it suggest that they have some pretty big concerns on whether they can cope with a large numbers of viewers.

l can't see that they are just going to show it just in SD as thats a no no for starters as viewers will expect far better definition then just SD.

I agree with what you are saying.

I read an article stating they had tried to get the Liverpool Derby on to Free to Air TV - but the T&Cs of their deal prevented this from happening

Beggars can’t be choosers. :)

Would have been an absolute joke if having been handed the rights they got to put a key game on free to advertise Amazon at Christmas.

They seem to be able to show the tennis in what appears to be HD quality, cant see why the football wont be the same.

They would be silly if they can't show it in HD but the bigger question is will they cope with the demand especialy for certain matches which will be very popular.

NBCsports cope just fine i can't see any reason why Amazon wouldn't cope.
