A few years ago I fancied a new set knives for Christmas. Gordon Ramsay happened to be on the telly, so I had a look at what he was using. Wusthof.
He wasn't promoting them, just using. So that's what I asked for. And they are indeed very good.

Yes I do agree having used my new Kuhn Rikon set on a tomato, so slick.

Oh now that's a gift to receive. Are they still like new or do you sharpen them?

I agree a bit pricey. But then I've been through 4 woks and the combined price of them is just a bit more than the one I have now, but has lasted longer than the other 4. So I'm sure I'll be saving. Same with a roasting tin, I've thrown out at least half a dozen, but have now invested in a heavy stainless steel one at just over £100.

I buy things not because of the name/brand, but researching the quality and durability. You have to pay more than you think. Stick with Tefal etc and you'll be paying out more than I will be that's for sure.

Yeah buy cheap buy twice. I paid Kuhn Rikon an extra £20 for the quality than a cheap set on Amazon. I just brought a metal washing tray/rack. It was double the price of a plastic tray from say Asda but it's metal with rubber feet and a cutlery box. Sometimes you've just got to bite your tongue.

I currently have the best drainer I have ever owned. Coated metal no sign of rust after months and months. Base tray that drains onto the sink 2 levels really good and cost me £6 as a first time buyer from TikTok Shop of all places

They do go off, so I just run them on the steel occasionally.

The Santoku gets more use than all the others put together. TBH I'd be happy with just that one.

Paid for the kitchen earlier today
Paid the deposit to the kitchen fitter
Bought the appliances for the kitchen

Cried, as this means no watches for a while

I keep looking for real rabbit fur in case we get the Russian style winter but I think my daughter would never speak to me again.

I used to have one of those (swapped it with a Russian border guard for a carton of cigarettes at the Helmstedt–Marienborn border crossing) - lasted about 15 years before it became too decrepit to wear.

I got one from Barbour

The exact model isn't listed. Mine has a clip rather than buttons.
