what about the vast amount being wasted? fair enough I'd take the argument if our bills were just above average but there not. add it all up. it doesnt make sense. it doesnt add up.

Wasted is subjective. It's a favorite term for people who want to promise more whilst taking less, politicians who say they can cut taxes and improve services by tackling 'waste'. It's the same with football. Yes Arsenal have wasted money, but other clubs have as well. Even United blew far too much on renewing Rooney's contract, the Young deal never really paid off, Bebe was a unmitigated diaster and Hernandez would be complained about if United didn't have Van Persie to score a bucket load of goals.

Waste is a natural occurrence in football. We can argue about the scale of waste and which player costs too much, is paid too much, and so on. We are addressing the contract situation and a lot of players' contracts expire at the end of this season. So that's a good thing.

However I don't think the difference between struggling for forth and fighting for the title is 'waste'.

Well our wages are the 4th biggest in the league. It does add up.

nice way of defending incompetence. Utd are 3rd highest wage spenders in the league and they have just won the league. nabbing our gem RVP. if you dont add quality, quality will leave. if you dont sign quality and trust too much in flops your squad will be less motivated. how many rotten apples at Arsenal and how many are there at Utd? its a business. busiensses strives towards efficiencies. if your not up to scratch then your sacked, its simple. to top it we're sold self subtainzzzz etc. etc. its all bullcrap. you cant defend it. the problems are deep adn there not addressed because its the officials whom are at fault.

It's not a nice way to defend incompetence. It's just a calm view of the facts. You can talk about rotten apples, flops, quality but it's all just clichéd remarks. The squad isn't good enough to challenge for the title, the investment to do so isn't coming anytime soon. That's it. You can bemoan 'bullcrap' as much as you like, and you have, but the cold bitter truth that I suggest you accept is that Arsenal will not challenge for the title next year, or the year after or the year after that unless we spend a lot on the squad.

I wish it were different, you wish it were different. It isn't. We shouldn't have built the stadium. The board were wrong about where the future of football was. It's been downhill ever since. We're all just waiting for the day when it changes direction again. :(

Yes we're not used to winning all the time unfortunately. Enjoy it. I know the legion of United fans in London will be tomorrow, got quite used to the annual gloating from them.

Well said on both points. Now Man City know what the EPL looks like and have had it for 1 season we now have it off them for keeps as they wont win it next year ether

calm? no. your last bit is going well off. the squad isnt good enough but then you have to look deeper. the wag bill is screwed so that holds us back. the Mata cock up. Mata should be in the squad with Fab and Nasri not waiting for exits. its incredible how many times its been said, it was add a player or two now its half a squad. anyway we can compete. there funds are there. its people with no bottle who settle for the safety first option. funny how the safety first option is beign shown up to being dangerous.

the stadium build aside. all that aside its done move on but its the stadium that is holding us back right. its not debt lol its sill ypolitics. the late Fiszman vs Dein then grandad Hill-Wood. Whos actually won out of it all? no one. not one person has come out on top. everything is coming back round to meet at 1 point. and thats where everyone is.. nowhere.

the sponsorship renewals suck. devalue the stadium, the very thing most of this mess is about. all for what? an extra few million but when the next round comes up it'll be the same unless the Prem drops in value, the revenue drops big time which i cant see happening.

like it or not Arsenal is run by a bunch of incompetent crooks. and to think people speak of Usmanov being anti christ or whatever. get a grip. Arsenal fans are being mugged in the daylight. being spoken to, treated like crap. PHW has linked to dark forces in Russia why isnt anything voiced about that. 'pot kettle black'

I think the main problem is that by selling VP, Arsenal kicked themself in the foot big time, and Wenger needs to be sacked.

Yes, they might be going into the CL, but they haven't won any silverware and for the board to allow that to continue is a total joke, being a Spurs fan, for Arsenal to overtake us is bad. But l am hoping that we go higher than them and shove it down there throat.

Arsenal are total rubbish and unless they buy quality players they are going no where, during the Summer l can see Walcott leaving and could join Man Utd or City.

Arsenal do not have one quality player that can send them into a cup final. Get rid of the baord and Wenger and then you may have chances.

I am not calm now because no sooner had the final whistle blew than I got the gloating messages from United fans just like I always get for the last seven or whatever years. I prefer it when Chelsea win the league so at least I don't get so much of it.
