Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

The official reason why it costs £10 more, is that you don't pay the £99 activation for the additional V+HD boxes when you get them installed. Obviously with you having your additional V+HD box installed by CEO the original circumstances are different, but that's the way it is set up on the computer system so the same has to apply to everyone.

And the Sky HD Bolt on is seperate again to any V+HD fees. If you wanted it on both V+HD boxes it would cost you a further £7 to add it to the additional HD box

Thanks once again Ben, think i may enquire to getting rid of the V+HD box then and replaced with just the standard V HD box as I don't really use the record function and the Wife only moans about the noisy hard drive at night :wtf:

Can't see it being a problem to do - you would have to pay for delivery/install of the V HD box but not the HD activation. So would be £20 Delivery or £40 Tech install

Slight issue over the HD activation fees on the VIP bundles at the moment however that's in the process of being sorted, so I may suggest you leave it for a week or so

At present the computer system tries to charge the £49 when it shouldn't, which is in the process of getting fixed.

Agents should be aware of this and not charge the fee, but this also seems to be an issue at the moment. This I am working to try and also get resolved.

Which is why I said give it a week or so!

I know there have been changes to the pricing, but how about the rules regarding self-install?

I have a V+ box downstairs and a V box upstairs. Can I now self install a V HD box to replace the the V box?

Received an email from Virgin today price to upgrade to 50Mb is £20 until the end of Sept, free installation charges worth £40 so I presume the £20 is for the 50Mb activation, rang CS as I was being charged £40 for my installation this Friday, £20 discount added to my bill so my one off charge is going to be £20 hopefully!

There are two charges associated with the upgrade of BB to XXL. Installation £40 and Activation £20.

The email is advising that you will only have to pay the Activation £20 and not the Installation £40, total £20.

I suggest that you need to clarify what you will be paying.

I think you will be paying a total of £40 as follows:

Activation £20
Installation £40
Discount -£20
Total £40

Thats's why I called them, as I already have a £20 discount showing on my account Virgin Partnership Saving, this gave me a one off cost of £40, however the email states free installation and £20 BB activation, after calling them I have had a further £20 put on my account giving a total saving of £40 and a one off fee of £20.

I've no idea what a Virgin Partnership Saving is but as long as you are happy that it is a one-off saving associated with this upgrade then that's OK.

If it's an ongoing monthly saving that you are entitled to because you have some association with Virgin Media for another reason then you are still £20 out of pocket.
