Well whatever he said for the second half works. No idea why this squad can't start properly.

Never seen Arsenal this inconsistant before.

Arsenal play some lovely football but in my humble opinion they need a few more steely characters in the team to become more consistent and harder to beat.

Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa: Newcastle agree fee for Montpellier defender

Newcastle United are set to confirm the signing of Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa early next week.

The two clubs have agreed a fee, thought to be £6.7m, for the 23-year-old France international.

He will be Newcastle's second signing of the transfer window after France right-back Mathieu Debuchy.

Manager Alan Pardew has moved to strengthen his defence after conceding 15 goals in five league games and winning only three of their last 18.

The Newcastle boss is also facing a fight to keep hold of his captain Fabricio Coloccini after the central defender asked to leave the club.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21106227

It's something and nothing though, we needed a CB before Colo kicked up a fuss, Mike Williamson is probably the worst defender in the league right now and he's starting every game... scary stuff. Meaning this incoming defender will replace Colo and that still leaves Williamson on the pitch

Anyway here's the best deal we'll be doing this week.

Look like a bit of a squeeze, no chance of getting Mike in one then.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: "We gave them too much room in which to play in the first half. We had the first chance, a fantastic chance, but missed it. I thought Francis Coquelin was injured for the first [Chelsea goal], and I'm not convinced at all that it was a penalty on the second one. We made some changes at half-time and came out with a different attitude with much more initiative. We had Chelsea on the back foot but could not get it back to 2-2. We didn't make enough of our corners and free-kicks."

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21002559

just get it right first time consistently for once! the players clearly cannot do it all themselves.. guide them from the start!

We should have killed the game off really, the ref didn't help in that respect. But fair play to spurs they kept at it and got something in the end. A point there isn't the end of the world for us.

no it wasn't. Even Rednapp just said the legs get tangled. It wasn't a foul from the Spurs player it was contact between the legs and the usual playing using that to fall on the floor.

Never worked their keeper enough but gutted to let a goal in right at the end

Any where else on the pitch thats a foul 100% of the time. Its clumsy defending from the spurs player, maybe not intentional but still a foul.

righto take this how you will, it could be bull and im not getting too excited just yet having been let down countless times by Arsenal putting a spin on things. a few days ago word on twitter was Arsenal put in a 30mil bid for someone. Gibbs agent tweeted something similar then deleted it. no names were mentioned. people got talking and Cavanis name was mooted.it isnt Cavani by the looks of it. BUT Gotze is said to have a 30mil release clause in his contract, the extention he recently signed. now a picture has appeared of whats said to be Wenger at Heathrow on his way to Germany...

The United v Spurs game today was brilliant football, but when are referees going to have consistency in the game and stop allowing the Sir Alex syndrome getting into the game.

The referee allowed the United players get away with so much and the shirt pulling and the handball in the box from Welbeck went unnoticed by ref.

And within two minutes of Rooney coming on he did his famous dive and he should have been red carded for diving.

The referee spolit the game with his friendliness of United.

Just mean the speculation is leaping a bit. I mean when you consider it why would Gotze want to come? Dortmund are doing well, they're in the Champions League with a better chance of advancing than us and they'll certainly be in the Champions League next year. Do we really need another attacking minded midfielder? I don't think we'll spent £30 million on our strongest point. We need a more defensive midfielder or a forward.

I hope he signs no one. It would be hilarious for everyone apart from Arsenal fans :D

Apparently Zaha to United is pretty much a done deal...will be announced tomorrow or Wednesday and hes expected to be loaned back to palace for the rest of the season.

Also hes become a pretty poor defender. He use to be quality but now a bit of a liabilty at the back.

Gary Neville is an excellent pundit. Easily the best on TV and his purpose seems to show up just how bad the standard of analysis has been up until now.

He did quite well yesterday. His problem normally is that he does play too far up, another reason why moving him to cover the defensive might work. His ability to read the game, pass and attack is pretty good.

Nicollin: "Turkey is complicated. [regarding Belhanda's transfer] England and Germany [is where] I will sell my players."

The Manchester United manager did not travel with his squad to Qatar for the four days of warm-weather training that they are enjoying before Saturday's FA Cup fourth-round tie at home to Fulham. Instead he remained in England to finalise the deal for Zaha, who has emerged as one of the most exciting talents outside the Premier League. It is unclear when Ferguson will join his players in Doha, the Qatari capital.

Rennes have accepted a £9.6m offer from Russian club Rubin Kazan for Yann M'Vila, but the France midfielder favours a move to England.

QPR were confident of recruiting M'Vila with a £6.2m offer that would rise by around £400,000 if they avoid relegation, but M'Vila was undecided on signing for the Premier League's bottom team.

He would prefer to join the unnamed club, who would pay £3.3m up front and a further £3m, or £3.3m, at the end of the season.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa didn't arrive yesterday as planned but I'll be over the moon if we sign 3 defenders in one window!

Brings into question Davide Santon's status, He's been a good lad and has really turned out well but there was rumoured interest from Milan for both Santon and Krul which also ties in with Newcastle supposedly ready to buy Jack Butland but loan him out to Birmingham straight away.

I can't even speculate anymore because I assumed our obvious window was 3 players being a defender, midfielder and a striker.. but we've went out and signed 3 defenders and are actively looking for midfielders and strikers.

Been doing my own bit of scouting, I find it strange nobody is going to take a gamble on Charlie Austin at Burnley, yet to play top flight football but the lad is a goal machine and won't be much of a loss financially if he turns out sour.

On a humorous note, Newcastle United only need 32 trophies to become the most successful team in English Football.
