It's hardly dispensing with it , everyone knows the total cost will be similar to both broadband and landlines that said I'm all for things what make it simpler to compare.

Nor me, but interesting that they are dispensing with line rental charges. Hopefully, other companies will follow suit!

I wouldn't touch them either. Others may follow but bet Virgin don't!

That's Vodafone and TalkTalk who've now scrapped line rental

Wonder if BT, Sky or Plusnet will follow

Pretty pointless selling line rentals as standard now I know older people still need them but for the vast majority we just use mobiles, social media or emails now can't remember when I last used the land line had it out for a year now and it was idle for a while before it was removed

Yes - not really open to debate according to this article. It says the Advertising Standards Authority will be making it compulsory from the end of the month.
Vodafone and TalkTalk are just getting ahead of the game.

Indeed so but it's a much better offering than what they had even 2 years back

@SkyNewsBreak

#TalkTalk has been given a record £400,000 fine for failings over a cyber attack which allowed customers' data to be accessed "with ease"

The bigger damage is to their reputation which is going to be very hard to repair.

"Asif Vali has revealed great news for boxing fans after announcing his upcoming October 1st show at the Lancashire County Cricket Club in Manchester will be televised live on new free-to-air channel ‘It’s A-Bout Boxing’.

"Organised by Vali, in conjunction with promoter Dennis Hobson, the ‘Zak Vali Annual Evening of Professional Boxing’ is set to feature exciting Northwest talent including Bolton prospect Osman Aslam; Matthew Mainwaring and Adam Hague, who are both trained by Matthew Hatton, as well as heavyweight Con Sheehan who is guided by Tyson Fury’s trainer, Peter Fury.

Now, with just days away from the first bell, the show has been picked up by former promoter Marcus Anderson Hitchen’s new boxing PR channel ‘It’s A-Bout Boxing’.

“Asif’s show will be going out on our channel which can be viewed on Sky Channel 468 and Freeview Channel 90,” explained Anderson Hitchen. “So far we’ve done a show with Carl Greaves and have some lined up with MGM Promotions, but this will be our first event going out as a live recording and I’m really excited. The channel is really picking up and from mid-October we’re aiming to broadcast a pre-recorded and a live show every Friday and Saturday."

No mention of Virgin Media as of yet. Is the channel Frontrunner on Virgin? That appears to be the channel this new one is replacing. I can't get my head around the term "boxing PR channel". As clear as mud.

Frontrunner did launch yesterday on Freeview HD Channel 91.

You will got Frontrunner if you can pick up BBC One HD on Freeview Channel 101.
