Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
I accumulated stock over the summer, just in case, so plenty of pasta etc in the cupboards and full freezers. Good stock of toilet rolls as well.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Well we are OK on rice especially glutinous and Thai. Should be OK for moment on Basmati, not sure on pasta.
Stocked up on some things back in April at Costco but it's getting time to buy loo rolls again. These lockdowns do seem to coincide with when we need to buy. |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
I finally went to sign for JSA yesterday, oh no not that simple it has to be done online.
I did that this morning, and of course they phoned when I was in the loo, the number appears to be a one-way one, as I can't call it back. |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
I phoned the JSA number, they can't do anything as I'm not in the system, and I have to wait for a phone call.
So for the next 6 hours I'm stuffed, I can't do a food shop before lockdown, go to the loo or cook food. Why can't they give a poxy time, I mean delivery companies can give a time range for delivery? |

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Maybe this belongs in CV thread and is trivial compared to some in here but was at the farmer's market yesterday and both sellers of game said this could be last week of fresh birds and maybe few still to come. This is because lockdown has closed shoots and when allowed to resume (if) would be limited to 11 people so may not restart.
OK so why should those monied toffs get a let off but look at it this way - birds were reared/protected earlier in the year - like farming you can't just pause things, the money would pay to keep estates going rather than seeing them sold off and developed, there are lots of people employed in the industry most birds shot are not taken by those shooting, they end up at markets where they are cheap (4 pheasants for £10 - 5 at end of season) - more jobs/businesses at risk. And what are the risks of groups of people, distanced out, outside to spreading CV19 anyway? |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
This story is annoying, I didn't know the term "Black" is OK but "Coloured" isn't.
Using the latter makes you a racist apparently, even I didn't know this. https://news.sky.com/video/fa-chairm...oured-12129210 |

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Black is a colour. “coloured” is othering of black people because it suggests that it’s them that are different, or have had something done to them.
We are all coloured. We are not all black. I’m a sort of mottled pink, but ‘white’ fits well enough. Either way, I’m definitely coloured, otherwise you’d be able to see my innards. Although come to think of it, that would still have a colour ... |
