Just came back from 5 days in Disneyland Paris with my daughter, just one word...Wow!

We were very fortunate in that a relative paid for it but I did think it would just be a very expensive trip to a large theme park. Well yes it was all that but MUCH more.

Firstly my daughter is almost 10 so she doesn't believe in the characters or fairy tales but she does still love the whole Disney thing however I had no way of anticipating the whole 'magic' of the place. Nothing there is cheap, I don't just mean the prices but the way it's built, laid out, everything. You can see the way Disney have it set up - their goal is that EVERY child (and probably some adults too) walking in through the doors has the most ultimate visit. The staff (or 'Cast Members') are simply awesome. Forget everything you thought you knew about customer service, everybody from shop workers, ride controllers to street cleaners, EVERYBODY is hyper cheerful, happy and smiling. There's no way on earth I could keep that up for more than 5 minutes but none of it is false. If you walk past someone emptying a bin and they see you make eye contact with them they stop what they're doing, smile, say 'Good Morning' and ask how your visit is going. I've never seen anything like it in my life.

The weather wasn't the best but that helped keep the queues down a bit. Every child in the place went nuts when the Parade Train did it's hourly tour and my daughter had her picture taken with Donald Duck, Winnie the Pooh and Mickey. But when I pointed out a Disney Princess was nearby she went nuts! I have no idea which one is which but she reliably informed me it was Rapunzel so she had her picture taken with her and 'Rapunzel' asked my daughter how her visit was going etc. Truly magical.

As the trip was for my daughter I had to ask if she'd let me do the Star Wars tour - and it was great!

They were selling these expensive (200E) Light Sabre that looked the business, complete with sound effects and the guy doing the demo asked me if I wanted him to show me how to use one. So I took it off him and asked if HE wanted to be shown how to use it...

All in all it was truly magical for my daughter. I know not everyone will be able to do it as it is VERY expensive even after you've bought your ticket but no child will be disappointed, I've been to loads of theme parks and kids' attractions but nothing compared to this. If you have kids and you get the chance to go, you simply cannot pass it up.

Very pleased to hear the holiday went so well Russ. Your daughter now has a memory that time will only enhance. Your Dad will have a grin as big as yours.

My happy thought today is simply that our rescue cat Ben came in from the garden when I called his name this morning even though he wasn't hungry. A simple thing but Ben had major trust issues when we took him in and responding to his name without a bribe is a big step forward.

Hmm it's not as good as 'fat kid with lightsabre', you have a lot to learn young padawan and much weight to gain :D.

Glad your daughter enjoyed it.

Cats do take a while, but when they do trust you then they will never leave you alone. A relatives cat wouldn't even come out when I was there, now when I'm there she will sit by me and want to be stroked forever.

Natalie went to a chocolate factory today. She was in her idea of heaven. I thought I'd lost her first at one point.

Love the new Wheels but don't think too much of Natalie's new guy though I expect he has to be an improvement over the current one. :D

As for the dressing gown.

Must admit I assumed you already had one seeing as you love all things with a Dr Who link. I do think you could still add
https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2013/05/12.jpg and https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2013/05/13.jpg to finish off the look. :D
