A.You'll find it's actually more to do with Discovery, all these cuts etc came after the Discovery Warner merger.
B. TCM is nothing like the channel it once was and it won't be missed.
C. The movies will now be more widely availble to people via QUEST which is also on freeview and freesat.

I expect them to license even more of their library to Sky Cinema or Amazon Prime.

I think it's more a victim of on-demand movies which allow viewers to watch the movie they want, when they want to.

I've always felt it would have worked better as an advertising-led Freeview channel (like Film 4) for those who who do not want to spend money on TV and are happy to fit around broadcasters' schedules.

They can use Eurosport 1 or 2 to do that though.

I can't see it personally , Their official response doesn't really suggest anything is replacing it

But Eurosport will NOT be rebrand until late August 2024.

Maybe WBD UK is set to sell their older movies (before 1970s) to Talking Pictures.

I think Discovery Science and Discovery History will be next to merge or be axe.

Also reports did say last night that WBD will sell CNN in 2024.

They can still use Eurosport for scheduling or promotion reasons though

I do think they will close more channels though.

The number of times these old films were being repeated, I’m surprised that anyone remotely interested in them hasn’t seen them all multiple times already.

My elderly aunty loves the old films and trawls through the TV guide to see what's on when. It doesn't seem to matter how often she's see them as she settles down to watch them and seems happy to fit in with the schedule.

And if we mention a film from her younger years she'll often tell us it brings back happy memories of seeing it x times with a different gentlemen friend each time

Awww, she might find Talking Pictures a good alternative to TCM.

I'm currently in a care home and one lounge has Talking Pictures on most of the time, whilst the other has ITV3 on most of the time.

I think that the older people get the more they get comfort from the past and retro programmes % films help them to do that.

It hasn't been on VM for a long while. I think it was before the current rebrand.

Ginx did close on Virgin Media some years ago due to Virgin not launch Ginx HD as part of the sign deal to carry Ginx,

Ginx will close on June 26th with ROK on Sky Q - and Ginx is own by Sky and ITV.

A source did say other the weekend that "there are a few channel launches/closures planned in & around that date"^

^I was holding it back until I had more confirmed info from my source.

Then today epsilon is reporting via DS Forum that some Pluto FAST channels are testing at Virgin Media UK HQ ahead of launch on V6 & TV360 boxes:

*5 Cops
*Mystery
*Haunt
