B. TCM is nothing like the channel it once was and it won't be missed. C. The movies will now be more widely availble to people via QUEST which is also on freeview and freesat. |
Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2023)
I expect them to license even more of their library to Sky Cinema or Amazon Prime.

I've always felt it would have worked better as an advertising-led Freeview channel (like Film 4) for those who who do not want to spend money on TV and are happy to fit around broadcasters' schedules. |

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2023)
The number of times these old films were being repeated, I’m surprised that anyone remotely interested in them hasn’t seen them all multiple times already.

And if we mention a film from her younger years she'll often tell us it brings back happy memories of seeing it x times with a different gentlemen friend each time  |
Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2023)
Awww, she might find Talking Pictures a good alternative to TCM.
I'm currently in a care home and one lounge has Talking Pictures on most of the time, whilst the other has ITV3 on most of the time. I think that the older people get the more they get comfort from the past and retro programmes % films help them to do that. |
Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2023)
